This from Glenn Beck's website. It's a compilation of comments made by Democrats regarding the absolute certainty of the existence of WMDs in Iraq. Some of the comments go back far enough that there actually were WMDs, but most are more recent and I find them a little disturbing because it looks like a lot of Dems--including Al Gore thought Saddam was a risk. It goes back to that excuse that "we didn't have the same intelligence" or "I believed my president" when millions of us knew or at least strongly suspected that there were no WMDs.

I want to know what you think about this, and what would be a good reasoned response?

It's also kind of entertaining to change "Saddam Hussein" to "George Bush" as you read through the quotes. :evilgrin:

BushCo lied to the Congress, lied to our allies, and lied to the nation. He was pretty good at tossing those lies out, there. He flat out made shit up.

2. Quick & dirty answer:

The White House didn't allow Congress to look at the same intelligence. They cherry-picked it to present their case for war.

By the way, the Clinton-era quotes precede both his bombing of Iraq (which took out many of the weapons facilities mentioned in quotes of that time) as well as the re-introduction of inspectors who later found no weapons.
