Gingrich: We're in WWIII
Sunday, July 16, 2006
Let's face it, it's WWIII, Gingrich says

Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich says America is in World War III and President Bush should say so.

Gingrich said in an interview Saturday that Bush should call a joint session of Congress the first week of September and talk about global military conflicts in much starker terms than have been heard from the president.

"We need to have the militancy that says 'We're not going to lose a city, " Gingrich said.

Gingrich said in the coming days he plans to speak out publicly and to the administration from his seat on the Defense Policy Board about the need to recognize that America is in World War III.

He lists wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, last week's bomb attacks in India, North Korean nuclear threats, terrorist arrests and investigations in Florida, Canada and Britain, and violence in Israel and Lebanon as evidence of World War III.

He said Bush needs to deliver a speech to Congress and "connect all the dots" for Americans.

That would suit them just fine, wouldn't it? I remember Richie Perle from an interview in Mother Jones in 2003 - talking about a 'total war'.

1. Just the validation the fuckers need...

...to declare a wartime administration, transfer all remaining power to the Presidency and spend whatever money they can get their hands on for more murder and profiteering.

Oh yeah, lets let these infantile egomaniac narcissists declare the war they really want. Can anyone tell me how to build a hut out of straw? I think I may be needing the skill pretty soon.

2. Except neither Gingrich nor Bush have the authority to do so...
...only historians do.

3. Ahh, Newtie....fancies himself a senior statesman and "idea person"
and with oodles of Oval Office ambitions. Hope springs eternal, I guess. Do you think the prudish America public who would attempt to impeach a president for a blow job will elect Newtie, a serial monogamist who received a public bj in a car in broad daylight and was witnessed and reported by one of his own staff people? Newtie is a train wreck waiting to happen?

"Nevermore" quoth the chickenhawk. "Nevermore."

4. The article is about the 2006 elections
The author should have noted that Newt is an AEI neoconservative.

6. So, they rolled out Osama, and everyone yawned. Then they
'found' the Miami Seven, everyone yawned. So it's WWIII. War, War, War and More War.

7. September?
and we're in WWIII. Isn't that a rather inane comment? I mean really there could be the absence of the human race by that time. Sheesh! These guys are so damn clueless. Actually, they know exactly what they are saying and doing.

8. "Investigations" do not constitute a state of war
And violence in Israel and Lebanon? Gee, that's never happened before! :sarcasm:

10. When did WWI and WWII
Start being referred to as WWI and WWII? I know that WWI couldn't be referred that way until they decided that fighting the Axis was indeed WWII, so when did that happen?
