Reframe : three powerful Dems are DEFENDING America
Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 05:15 PM by BelgianMadCow
and it's foundations, not attacking the White House!

They are doing (well okay, talking) what they were sworn to do : upholding the constitution!

I hate how Wolfie spins this as an attack, you just see the "politically motivated" coming around the corner...

No one in their right mind can watch Gore's speech and say it was a political attack.
It was a Stateman's Honorable Defense of that what he obviously loves : his country.

Dissent is the highest form of patriotism.

And then Simple Scottie denouncing Gore "if he's gonna be the voice of the Democrats on security issues, we welcome that"
Yeah, like, he co-authored the Gore-Rudman report which you bunch of lousy SOBs did ABSOFREAKINGLUTELY nothing about. August 06 PDB anyone?

Oh, so hard it can be to read DU and know when so many don't.

edit typo
edit 2 : DEFENDING instead of defending

1. It's not their fault that by defending our freedoms and upholding
the Constitution that they have to say negative things about those who hate our freedoms and are trashing the Constitution! I mean, without a John, a hooker wouldn't be a hooker, right?

:)

This is the man who presided (on edit : try keeping your cool in those circumstances!) as Senate leader over the non-appeal to the election stolen from him by the SCOTUS.

He does NOT strike me as a political hack at all. A statesman concerned for his country, speaking truth to power.

5. Indeed! I would call him a Patriot!
If there were any way possible, he would have been Swift-boated or otherwise maligned. They have nothing because he is an honest man. That leaves them with only themselves to fight with:) At the end of the day, all their nonsensical comments will not amount to a hill of beans and will only serve to make them look even more foolish. Let 'em talk. They are talking about nothing because they have nothing.

I've always wanted to run into Al so I could stick my hand out and say, "Hello, Mr. President! It's such an honor to meet you!"

Someone here earlier called him "Honest Al" as in "Honest Abe"... fitting, methinks.

As for the scoundrels who stole the WH, Karma is polishing her shoes and just waiting for that swift kick:)

3. I think Statesman's Honorable Defense
says it well and is right on, it's called defending the Constitution, look it up Wolfie.

Kicked and nominated

7. If they have nothing to hide....
Then they should have no fear, right?

9. And it's a perfect excuse to use their words against them...
They say if we aren't doing anything wrong, then we shouldn't mind the president listening in.

If they aren't doing anything wrong, then a silly little investigation shouldn't hurt them.

6. Ay! My bad. Hart-Rudman it is. I'm just a foreigner :-)
Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 05:13 PM by BelgianMadCow
Nevertheless, the Clinton admin (and with it, Al Gore) handed Bush*co a detailed list of national security priorities (using also Richard Clark(e) I think) with Al Qaeda on n°1 and Bush*co never bothered...

12. I always say that Gore would've read and implemented HartRudman
report as soon as it was given to him. And 9-11 wouldn't have happened.

That may be why you're used to seeing Gore and HartRudman together. ;)

10. Agreed. They were the patriotic words of a noble Statesman
To say otherwise undermines our country and the brave troops who are serving it both at home and abroad.

11. and does terrible unjustice to a man with the grace
to not further challenge the legitimacy of the 2000 sElection so as to not further polarize and divide the country.

From the man I saw yesterday, I can believe this motive.
