1. You could volunteer for a democrat running for office. |
|
Betcha meet some DUers there. Also, be sure to attend any meet-ups of DU members in your area. As for the website, though....Go outside, get some air! Try agan later.

7. You aren't the only one who gets anxious! |
|
ignore the snarky folks, you're just a target for something in their craw completely unrelated. it's a shame when they have to thread crap, especially when more du could actually be uplifting. I know it's my lifeline.
weather's nice and mild here, so I'll be taking a walk after catching up on du, but it seems the rest of the country is too damn hot for outdoor activities!

9. Thank you freepless (I love your name) . I appreciate the kind words.... |
|
it kind of makes you hesitant to participate when people jump on ya. Doesn't happen very often, and I thought maybe I was perceiving it wrong, but I don't think so.
Thanks again...stay cool!

12. icymist, I apologize if I took your post as being snarky. I guess we are |
|
all getting testy in these times.
I just felt like you thought I should do something with my life besides live in DU. (I guess I do feel guilty for spending so much time here).
I hope you will accept my apology.

15. Good luck with your resumes. I have a couples of friends here in KC |
|
that are having a TERRIBLE time getting a job.
I wish you the best.
This world is just gettiing so depressing. My husband and I are retired and we are just so tired of seeing the world "go to hell".
Thanks for the note back.

13. If it's any consolation,... |
|
...your reply didn't strike me as snarky, either. People's skins are waaaaaaaaaaay too thin here, I find.

11. You know you're paranoid when |
|
last night the power went out just before ten, so we sat there in the dark for a bit, my wife got the camping lantern out we have for just such a time and went on reading, I went to bed. I wasn't in bed ten minutes when all hell broke lose outside, sirens everywhere, fire trucks, ambulances, police the world gone completely mad and me lying in the dark without any power, unable to find out whats going on, just hoping that some fool has ran their car off into a ditch. I guess it wasn't anything too serious we got power back on in about an hour got up and reset everything and went back to bed. I need to put batteries in my portable radio.
