The anti-choicer/anti-stemcell wingnuts never mention spontaneous
abortion. I wonder why...

"The cause of most spontaneous abortions is fetal death due to fetal genetic abnormalities, usually unrelated to the mother. Other possible causes for spontaneous abortion include infection, physical problems the mother may have, hormonal factors, immune responses, and serious systemic diseases of the mother (such as diabetes or thyroid problems).

It is estimated that up to 50% of all fertilized eggs die and are lost (aborted) spontaneously, usually before the woman knows she is pregnant. Among known pregnancies, the rate of spontaneous abortion is approximately 10% and usually occurs between the 7th and 12th weeks of pregnancy."

1. in the world of the right wing there is no such thing as science or
birth defects. They believe that birth defects must come from alcohol or drug use and sinning against god. believe me I know.

2. I've had two in the past.
it was very emotional, I didn't know at the time I was pregnant. I have always thought that it was for the best.

3. Because they view that as God's will.
God gives life and only he can take it away.

I could almost accept that, but the findies also don't disagree with war or the death penalty. I don't understand the difference!

7. Personally I think
There are a lot of spontaneous abortions that occur between Catholics who actually utilize the rhythm method. Think about it. It's a manner of birth control, although not a very good one, but it does work some of the time. So those times it does work, probably the majority of the time it's because the woman is not producing eggs. They're well into the safe zone on timing.

But what if they're not in that safe zone - like when the woman is just entering or about to leave the safe zone?

When she's entering the safe zone, it is possible that there is an egg hanging around even though she's not producing any new ones. (Do female humans produce more than one egg during fertile cycles? This was the part of sex education I didn't pay attention to) Chances are these are older eggs, and when they're fertilized, the zygote (or whatever) is not able to attach itself to the uterine wall because half of the material used to create it was past its prime. Thus, it's "flushed."

A different situation occurs when she's coming out of her safe zone into her fertile cycle. Even if they stopped having sex a day or two before, there could still be some sperm hanging around that might actually find a new egg to implant. However, same result - half of the material used to create the zygote is past its prime so, bye-bye.

If right-to-lifers believe that life begins at conception then the Rhythm Method could be one of the biggest killers of unborn children ever.

8. Another lie by the right wing abortion isn't involved in SCR.
It's so freakin maddening for me to watch this "debate." All the opposition has is lies and insults.
