Just watched the Washington Journal rerun; some idiot caller wanted to know how dare we "use those potential human beings for research!"

Follow me here: he believed they were human beings, right? Following his logic, sperm and eggs are "human beings" too! So, if we followed his logic, then death to women who have periods! Death to those who masturbate!

8. That's what is sickening about their belief.

Do everything possible to protect it while in the womb, then once it's born, let the parents raise it - regardless of whether or not they wanted it in the first place, have the ability to pay for its needs, or have the intelligence and right frame of mind to devote time and energy to a proper upbringing. Crack ho's make great moms, right?

And once it's old enough to go fight a war, even if the war was based on lies, and even if there aren't adequate safeguards in place to protect it from harm, sign it up for military service and ship it off to war. Then when it's killed, don't show its coffin on TV, because that might be detrimental to the war effort.

Or let the unloved person grow up to be an angry, vicious criminal, because it never had the love or nurturing all children need. These same people who fought so hard to see that it would have a life have no qualms about taking that life away later.

To call what they believe hypocritical is an understatement.

6. The caller needs a bit more info to be logical.

A Dr. who was also on the WJ this AM explained that "Yes, the embryos are human, as opposed to bovine, feline, canine, etc, but they are POTENTIAL viable human beings."

Tom Harkin was also on at the end of WJ. e said he asked his fellow Senators who were opposed to this bill if they were willing to submit a bill banning in-vitro fertilization? They all said NO! Tom's response was, "In-vitro, by nature, creates many unused embryos in a frozen state that are NEVER used, and simply thrown away! If you feel so strongly that these embryos are living human beings, then you should submit and vote against in-vitro! If you approve of it, then you're being a hypocrite in arguing they should be destroyed instead of being used for something good."
