Wes Clark is so very smart!
Catching him last night on "O'Leilly" reminded me again on why this guy is so special. He has been talking almost daily to the "other" side about views on the ME and various other things. No amount of traveling from state to state trying to get some support will gain him as much support as what he is doing right now.

Clark knows that most of the Dems would vote for him if he were to win the Democratic Nomination for 08', what he is doing right now is preparing for the general elections and breaking down some of the barriers of the FOX News watchers. These people are seeing this man in a non competitive platform forum. He is gaining their respect as well as some of their trust. If he continues doing this for the next year or so, there will be many people on the right that will not be so opposed to voting for him. He won't have to "campaign" for their trust and support. He won't have to worry as much about not being able to get his message out because he isn't getting as much camera coverage as some of the other Dem Candidates will be.

While others are reported on purely in the context of being a possible Democratic Presidential Nominees and being handed all of the baggage that goes with that; Clark is just getting known as an accepted "expert" in strategic war planning to the right. The right is seeing this man define issues and propose solutions on everything that is going on in a non threatening environment. Pubs always try to paint the Dems as weak on Defense, Clark is showing them on a very regular basis, on how he is NOT weak on defense and how he actually knows what he is talking about. Possibly the most brilliant strategy of all so far.

1. Another thing about Wes is he is very smart, yes, but...
he's really good at explaining very complicated and esoteric concepts and truths in a way that allows anyone to understand him, and without "talking down" or "dumbing down".

It is very hard for the other side to say the Democrats are weak on defense as long as we have Wes.

2. Yes Wes is smart but.....
but are Democrats smart enough to support him enough to win in the primaries?

Right now Hil has the corporate cash and the DLC behind her (while having the red part of the country firmly against her) yet she isn't as progressive as Clark.

Clark is not only highly qualified, intelligent, honest and dripping with integrity he also would act as a human wedge gouging out deep chunks of voters from the red states and fracturing a relatively solid right wing. Hil will simply act to solidify the right wing voting block.

Are we smart enough to put Clark forth as our candidate?

4. Clark has a good chance
the public is sick of Washington insiders and career politicians. He also speaks with a clarity, conviction, and sincerity that is very appealing. He's the real deal, and I can't wait to campaign for him again.

5. The biggest challenge will be the Primaries
The DNC can be the biggest stumbling block for us Clark supporters. The "Establishment" Democratic Committee has its own agenda. Too bad for us that our biggest obstacle will in fact be the Democrats.

6. Amen to that.....
The ONLY way to win in '08 IMHO is to have the General leading the ticket.

If we get one of the DLC'ers, or someone that has run before we are completely screwed.

It is time for fresh blood, fresh ideas and a fresh start...
