Snow on Bush Stem Cell Veto: ‘Simple Answer Is He Thinks Murder Is Wrong'
Snow on Bush Stem Cell Veto: ‘The Simple Answer Is He Thinks Murder Is Wrong’

The Senate is expected to vote overwhelming this afternoon to expand embryonic stem cell research. The bill would allow federal funding for research that “could lead to treatments that save millions of lives and improve the quality-of-life for millions more.” President Bush has vowed to veto the bill.

Today, a reporter asked Press Secretary Tony Snow why Bush opposed the bill. Snow responded, “The simple answer is he thinks murder is wrong.”

An embryo is not a baby or even a fetus; it’s a cluster of about 150 cells, also known as a blastocyst, which forms a few days after the joining of a sperm and egg, and is no larger than the period at the end of this sentence.

In any event, the embroyos at issue are currently being discarded.

1. Yup, that's a "simple" answer, all right.
But not in the way Snow meant it.

3. I seriously believe that Tony Snow is in cahoots with the TV industry.
Because everytime he opens his moronic pie-hole, I put a foot in the screen and I have to buy a new one.

Genius!

4. bush does not give a fuck about stem cells or
American Service personnel dying in Iraq or Teri Schiavo or gays getting married or the destruction of social security or the national debt or the destruction of our military, or the burning of flags. He is a worthless collection of carbon, and tony snow is a sad excuse for a human being for taking a pay check to be a spokesman for this thing.

8. If Bush truly thinks murder is wrong, why is he a murderer?
Forget about the prisoners on death row he put to death while Governor of Texas, in fact, he even mocked one of them. But what about our innocent soldiers he sent to a war based on lies? What about the thousands of innocent civilians killed because of his lies?

Bush needs to be held accountable for what he says and does. He can't have it both ways.

13. How many Iraqi and Afghan civilians has Bush murdered?
Or don't they count because they aren't Americans? Or because they were killed by the American wehrmacht? Or because they should be honored to have died in service to Bush's global war on terror?

A real human being, with a conscience and scruples and principles would be appalled to say what Tony Snow said. Fortunately, Fox News is in business to find just such persons for hire by Republicans.

21. Probably be a good time to bring up that abortion in '72. Did Bush
think it was murder then? And it was still illegal then. Maybe Snow could pull a citizens arrest?

Hell Snow's another parrot who has never been inside a stem cell lab. Btw I guess it's moral to keep me a cripple and kick me out of "your" church for wanting said research.

23. Why do RW Christians like to see others suffer so much?
They impede medical science so cures are not developed. They make women have babies they don't want. They make people with terminal illnesses stay alive against their will. They withhold medication from those in pain. They deny gays the joy of having a legally recognized life partner. And they just piss themselves with glee at the prospect of a good godly genocide.
