* is insane or dealing w/ a very diminished mental capacity
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 03:40 PM by Botany
I just saw his talk @ a cabinet meeting. If nobody else will say it, I will.
Bush is really nuts. After his overseas trip at which; He told Putin that
"Russia is big." Talked to Tony Blair with a flip, "Yo Blair when you
leaving." Made simple statements about the complex mid east problems.
(Just stop the shit) And then showed no respect or manners by
touching the Chancellor of Germany in very disrespectful way during
a meeting of world leaders I see him stumble through a set up interview
and statement ..... that was painful to watch. Pauses, grammar errors, ah &
hmmms while speaking, continually putting 100% of the blame on Hezbollah
and Syria, and smirked and smiling while talking about "innocent loss of life"
he is truly out to lunch.

8. Thanx
My writing was very bad on that post but I was kind of sleeping a little when he came on the
tube ..... I did not sleep much last night after seeing bush's act with Chancellor
Merkel ..... I just had to post something about what I was seeing.

You would think subject and verb agreement along with the correct tense when
speaking is not too high a bar for POTUS?

12. I know!
When I've told people that at one time he was coherent and articulate they don't believe it. The difference between him in 2000 and now is remarkable. Not that he sounded smart then or anything but at least he could put a sentence together. But when you hear him from back in the '80s, it's really striking.

And Nancy Reagan was visiting with Pickels? The Reagans and the Bushes were never friendly.

7. wernicke-korsakoff syndrome
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 03:46 PM by pitohui
all that boozing leached the thiamin out of his brain and permanently damaged his ability to remember and to reason and to act like a reasonable adult

Heavy alcohol use interferes with the metabolism of thiamine, so even in the unusual cases where alcoholics are eating a balanced diet while drinking heavily, the metabolic problem persists because most of the thiamine is not absorbed.

Korsakoff syndrome, or Korsakoff psychosis, tends to develop as Wernicke's symptoms diminish. It involves impairment of memory out of proportion to problems with other cognitive functions.

Patients often attempt to hide their poor memory by confabulating. The patient will create detailed, believable stories about experiences or situations to cover gaps in memory. This is not usually a deliberate attempt to deceive because the patient often believes what he is saying to be true. It can occur whether or not the thiamine deficiency was related to alcoholism and with other types of brain damage.

Korsakoff psychosis involves damage to areas of the brain involved with memory.

38. Nope. My mother has a very mild form of WK and it doesn't present
... like Junior's behavior. He's a pathological narcissist (Narcissistic Personality Disorder per DSM-IV) - the poster boy for it. Folks interpret those terms in a far more banal way than the disorder actually presents itself in the more severe case like Junior. While there's undoubtedly some after-effects of his alcohol (and drug) abuse, it's trivial compared to his NPD which, no doubt, led to and exacerbated his "acting out" in various substance abuses. This is one seriously disordered individual - and it's not new. He always had been - but it's gotten far, far more severe since his (weak) gubernatorial sojourn.

10. You are describing a psychotic condition....
<snip>
A person who is psychotic is out of touch with reality. People with psychosis may hear voices (hallucinations) or have strange and illogical ideas (delusions). Delusions may consist of thinking that others can hear their thoughts, that others are trying to harm them, or that they are a famous person). They may get excited or angry for no apparent reason, or spend a lot of time by themselves, or in bed, sleeping during the day and staying awake at night. The person may neglect appearance and may be hard to talk to. They may be unaware that their condition is an illness. Schizophrenia is an example of a psychosis.

Antipsychotic medications assist in a number of ways. They often calm down the hallucinations and delusions, or at least make them more manageable. Some antipsychotic medications also help the person interact more normally with others. They may become more social and less isolated, and begin to take an interest in their grooming and appearance.

There are a number of antipsychotic medications available, all of which have been shown to be effective in treating schizophrenia. The medications affect the chemicals that allow communication between nerve cells (neurotransmitters). One such neurotransmitter, dopamine, is thought to be involved in schizophrenia symptoms. Many of these medications target dopamine in one way or another.

The first atypical antipsychotic, clozapine (Clozaril), was introduced in the United States in 1990. It was found to be more effective than conventional or "typical" antipsychotic medications with a lower risk of the movement disorder "tardive dyskinesia". Patients who are on clozapine must have a blood test every 1 or 2 weeks because it can cause a serious blood disorder. Newer atypical antipsychotic medications do not carry this risk.

Several other atypical antipsychotics have been developed since clozapine was introduced. The first was risperidone (Risperdal), followed by olanzapine (Zyprexa), quetiapine (Seroquel), ziprasidone (Geodon), and aripiprazole (Abilify). Each has a unique side effect profile, but in general, these medications cause fewer and milder side effects than the earlier drugs. Most side effects of antipsychotic medications are mild. Many common ones lessen or disappear after the first few weeks of treatment. These include drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, and dizziness when changing position.

15. I believe he is a sociopath
aka: Anti-social personality disorder

Definition of Personality disorder

Personality disorder: A disorder characterized by the chronic use of mechanisms of coping in an inappropriate, stereotyped, and maladaptive manner. Personality disorders are enduring and persistent styles of behavior and thought, not atypical episodes. The personality disorders encompass a group of behavioral disorders that are different and distinct from the psychotic and neurotic disorders. The official psychiatric manual, the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association, Fourth Edition), defines a personality disorder as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that differs markedly from the expectations of the individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible, has an onset in adolescence or early adulthood, is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment. Personality disorders are a long-standing and maladaptive pattern of perceiving and responding to other people and to stressful circumstances.

34. Dry? As in not drinking?
I have seen numerous pictures of him in close proximity to what appear to be alcoholic beverages. The most recent one being that bizarre shot with Putin from the G-8 with a beer bottle on the table. I also remember one from about a month ago (in England?) with his chimp-hand around the bell of a wine glass filled with a gold/amber liquid.

I agree with your assessment except mine would omit the "dry."

Peace

then wouldn't he be subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice?

Here's at least a few articles that Bush has already violated.

Article 134—Disorderly conduct, drunkenness

Article 133—Conduct unbecoming an officer and gentleman.

Article 117—Provoking speeches or gestures.

Article 125—Sodomy.

Article 134— Adultery.

Article 88—Contempt toward officials.

Article 104—Aiding the enemy.

Article 134 - Fraternization.

ADD
ADHD
Dyslexia
Memory lapses
reading below grade level
learning disabled: Phonetic awareness, decoding, comprehension, fluency, vocabulary.

He would have definitely qualified for more time on tests and to have them read to him.

27. This is what happens when democracy is held hostage by Repukes.
The SCOTUS abused our democracy Dec, 2000. They took advantage of their standing in society and got involved in something they should have stayed out of. But no, Scalia hated democracy so much he had to destroy it. Thanks Scarface, these last six years have been nothing but blood and death. Hope you can sleep swimming in the blood of innocents. Actually I hope you can't.

Without the criminal act of the SCOTUS, Al Gore (the LEGIT person who WON in 2000, been proven) would have taken his rightful place and America would have hummed along without the last 6 years of eroding infrastructure. Without that legitimacy, you get people like George Bush and Dick Cheney. Not really the legit people in office, so everything goes crazy and the whole world starts falling apart. All because a few criminals found a way to cheat the system. Without legitimacy you get cabinet appointments like Rice, Negroponte, Bolton, etc..

The world is a FAR more dangerous place today thanks to Bush vs Gore.

Sleep well you fucking traitors!

35. I saw a video of Bush yesterday evening
on a European TV station that I pick up through satellite. I believe the video was of Bush as he just returned from Russia, speaking to reporters at the White House, although it might have been from another occasion. His body was almost completely reclined in a normal chair, with his legs widely splayed apart and you could see the soles of his shoes. It was an interesting spectacle, even more disturbing perhaps than the incident when he loudly chewed food in Blair's face. I looked for photos of the meeting on the Internet but couldn't find any.

About the cool breeze that came across Gull Bay and up the hillside and across the meadow

which was now bathed in the crimson light of the setting sun.
