1. The vote is close enough
Assuming )*( does veto the bill, it still goes back to Congress for a revote. If three more Senators can be coaxed to support the bill, the Senate can still do it.

What was the margin in the House, and is it close enough that with a bit of lobbying they could override?

4. Call me a cynic (part II)
But I wonder if this will be vetoed before the November elections, only to be resurrected afterwords, and passed without the worry of PO'd fundies?

6. Yep

It won't even be thought about then and the whole reason was to let certian Rethugs vote for it to help them win in Nov.

8. That seems like the chimp's GOP base's style
The love to waste tax payers time and money and mess around with people's lives. God did I tell you how much that I hate these "people." And I use the term people loosely.

5. Can we start picketing the Christian Right now?
All the name calling in the world wont help. Lets harness our energy and do something productive like picketing these fools who want to dictate their doctorine onto us.

11. Careful people. This is a Rove setup, IMO
As soon as it was "announced" that the President was going to veto, all you had to do is take note of WHO made that announcement. It was Rove.

This is their Plan B to keep a majority for Bush.

They can't benefit from it personally one day if there aren't any advancements in treatment.
