Forgive me for starting a separate thread, but I'm afraid this point is being missed.

When Kennedy joined that club, Harvard only admitted men. The club would naturally be all-male because the college was all-male. Anything he did in college would have been all-male. Where is the big freaking deal?

1. Exactly! And when he drove off that bridge and drowned that woman...
there was no OnStar or cell phones or anything which could have easily brought help and saved her. Cut him some slack!

OS: OK Sir, Ahm contactin' the local police for yew...

12. Yep...
Ladies and gentleman, that's the beauty of the scientific method. You can conduct experiments to test your theories.

Let's proceed. What do you think will happen re: Bush's illegal activities, why, and whether it'll be a good or bad thing?

2. so then he was a sexist and chose an all male (and probably white) school?
I dunno, people can spin things a zillion ways.

To me it is more important what one has done in office (or who they are now) then where they have been.

3. It was 52 years ago.

We're talking 1954 here. The recent wave of feminism didn't start until the 70's. No one even used the word "sexist" in 1954. I believe that even predates The Feminine Mystique, which was the first suggestion that things might not be equal for women.

On edit: I see your point. But I'll bet you money I can't afford to lose :) that if you bring up the point that Harvard was all-male when Kennedy joined this group, you'll stop 90% of freepers in their tracks.

5. Yale was also all-male when Bush attended ...
If they make a big deal of Kennedy's club, they'd also have to do the same for their own guy!

And as far as I know, Kennedy didn't go around saying that going co-ed was a bad thing for his school (which is what Bush did).

http://www.dubyaspeak.com/incidents2.shtml

"Bush mentioned something about Yale University, from which he graduated in 1968. Novick graduated from Yale in 1983, so she brought it up, thinking it would be "like a bonding thing."

"When did you graduate?" Bush asked her, as she recalls. She told him. That's when Bush told her that Yale "went downhill since they admitted women."

"I said, 'Excuse me?'" Novick says. "I thought he was kidding. But he didn't seem to be kidding."

what a shame that they don't bother to find out if anything Scott McClellen spews is true or not.
