Hillary's speech was amazing in its content and should 100% be applauded. She hasn't been a diversion at all. The more dem viewpoints we can have talked about in primetime the better. She did an amazing job, as did Gore.

I didn't see her speech so I won't judge it, but her "plantation" remark is now occupying the news cycle over and over again when it SHOULD be the NSA program and Gore's speech that is front and center.
So personally I'm not pleased with how she's grabbed the headlines and opened herself and the party to more GOP attacks. It gives them a good distraction, and it could have avoided if she hasn't used emotional/racial words like that.
Also, it couldn't hurt for the Dems to coordinate their "big" speeches some so we have one message of the day.
