Reports of "vote switching" coming out of Georgia's 4th district
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 09:49 PM by CatWoman
which is mine.

I was watching the returns on the tv, and the announcer said that the McKinney camp has several reports of the voting machines switching votes cast for her to her opponent.

They are supposedly gathering affadavits.

Cindy Sheehan is with Cynthia at her campaign headquarters.

So what do you think of Johnson if he's going to be "the one"?

Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 09:51 PM by CatWoman
Majette served one term, ran an unsuccessful bid for the senate, and now she's on the ballot this year of Superintendent for Education.

I don't know much about Hank Johnson, tho.

38. That's weird. Did they just pick her because the district is liberal
and that's what was needed to beat McKinney? Some have said that she is a Conservative, and some have said she's a liberal. Me confused.

new numbers are in! she's pulled ahead

Coyne 2,738 8%
Johnson 15,445 45.3%
McKinney 15,910 46.7%

6. So Now, It's Dems Switching Dems Votes?
???? WTF??????

I suppose Rove is behind this too?

could it be that people are tired of McKinney and like someone else better?

If votes are being switched truly, then let's get to the bottom of this.

If it can't be gotten to the bottom of, then obviously machines for voting are the problem and Dems should take this primary as the example to the public of America.

If it is found that this is just a new tool in the bag, to claim unfairness when one is losing, then that is one that we need to let go of as a society.

15. Yikes! I just figured it was repukes coming out of the woodwork again
like they did for Denise Majette (now the presumptive Dem nominee for school superintendent, BTW). The anemic vote totals for the unopposed repuke candidate, as compared to several other unopposed candidates of both parties, would appear to bear that out (or is GA 4 really THAT Blue?!)

in spite of the monkey business going on with the voting (again), in spite of the fracas with the Capitol security, in spite of the political soothsayers at the local free weekly calling for her head, will the Neville Chamberlain Dems finally shut the fuck up about how she's out of step with voters in the 4th?

Nah, probably not.

50. Looks insurmountable for Cynthia with 98% in
U.S. Representative, District 4
Democrat
98% of precincts reporting Votes Percentage

John F. Coyne, III 5,214 8.6%
Henry C. "Hank" Johnson, Jr. 27,075 44.5%
Cynthia McKinney 28,505 46.9%

I count just over 60,000 votes total. 2 percent of that is 1200. Cynthia is ahead by over 1400. :bounce: John F. Coyne III, whoever he is, may have helped by splitting the ABC (Anybody But Cynthia) vote.

It's only 7:30 out here (1:30 AM EDT). I just realized what a great place Hawai'i is to do election blogging!
