LOL, Katherine Crier showed actors who won Golden Globe awards, |
|
then said, paraphrasing, 'and a lot of good acting (or something like that) was also going on in Washington last week'. Then she showed a clip of Alito's wife crying during the hearings, and said, "Now THAT'S what I call a good supporting role!"

Lindsay Graham deserves an acting award, as well.
"I'm sorry your family...(choking-up effect building up at this point)...had to sit through this..."
Alito's wife shouldn't have been there. Period.

4. Who was the fem-bot sitting over Alito's left shoulder |
|
was that his daughter? She looks like a no nonsense dominatrix.

5. Why shouldn't she have been there? |
|
I think she did a stunt for the press.
However I defend her right to be there.
And her right to cry.
I decry the media for making a big deal out of it.

14. I totally agree. And observers have a right to assess what she did |

at the hearings. I just love those consitutional rights.

She's a f*cking you know what, and a bad actor.
She had a right to be there.
We have a right to assess what she did.

18. I wasn't referring to civil or human "rights"... |
|
when I said she shouldn't have been there. Perspective & common sense come into play here. Lifetime SC nominees are usually heavily grilled, particularly those whose records reveal extreme views not commonly shared by the vast population they will serve.
It's dirty business for family members, & if they choose to attend, they shouldn't wear their hearts on their sleeves because, naturally, it's our "right" to know all the dirty facts.

8. I have no problem with her being there |
|
but she needed to acquit herself as an adult. That means, no bringing attention to herself through drama queen histrionics. If she had a legitimate argument to make with the questions, she should have addressed the media at a later time with her criticisms. She should not have disrupted the proceedings by bolting from the room bawling. She hurt all women, including our brave women soldiers, by acting self indulgently. And Lindsay Graham's little tirade was condescending and also unmerited. This was not a debutante ball.

17. Mrs. Doubtfire has better fashion sense |
|
I think it was TDS which suggested a trip to Talbots for Mrs. Alito. Where does she buy those clothes? I consider myself a pretty savvy shopper. I buy Vogue and Harpers Bazaar...though most of those clothes are out of my price range. And I've never seen clothes like Mrs. Alito's. That's the mystery to me. Where does she buy that stuff?

I can't help myself, though - every time I see or hear anything about that little actin' job last week, I keep hearing the theme song from 'Evita' in my head ...
"Don't cry for me, Ms. Alito ..."
