I'm Depressed. Is There Any Good News in the World?
There must be some good news from somewhere.

Its probably good news for most other countries that Bush is back in the US. and they don't have to put up with him any more. Don't you think?

Canada is calm - there must be good news in Canada.

1. The mid terms are ours to lose
If I was running against an opponent responsible for corruption, causing unemployment, trade and budget deficits, how could I lose?

I'm actually feeling a little more optimistic than a few months ago.

16. You could lose if they 'change the subject.'
>>>>how could I lose?>>>>

They're highly skilled at this.

19. Oh yes
How could I forget those convenient "Bin Laden" tapes that mysteriously appear 18 hours before an election?

6. Yes. That is really good news.
I never did trust that boyish face of his. Don't trust anyone who looks so clean they shine.

Your Avatar peeks my interest. I live about 10 miles (as the crow flies) from Stennis Space Center in South Mississippi. Space exploration totally fascinates me. Are you connected to NASA?

14. You know its bad when that the best we can offer.
Actually I saw where people untangled two whales and sent them on their way. I thought that was great.

Oh, there was a letter to our editor this morning about a woman who found a starving dog and her puppies. She took them in and e-mailed her closest friends who e-mailed their closest friends. She got some 35o e-mails back. All dogs are now in loving homes.

Let's hear it for really nice people~! Yea!

9. A suggestion for you
Do what I do, take a break from it all once a week.

I have a small farm out in the country, and when the weekend comes, I unplug from it all. I work in my orchard, or other parts of the farm. I spend time with my wife, family, friends and pets. I listen to the news for five minutes max, perhaps once per day. I enjoy watching the rabbits, deer, and other wildlife. I take a break from the world, I have to in order to retain my sanity.

That is the curse of people who retain their humanity and empathy, you witness all of this death and destruction and it begins to effect you, both mentally and physically. You've got to take a break friend, a day or two in which you can recharge and renew yourself. Otherwise you are going to sink into a pit of despair and be consumed.

So take a break from the wider world, and focus on your own life. You will be much healthier for doing so:hug:

24. The war profiteering corporate news monopoly news is INTENDED TO
depress you, and make you feel isolated and alone, and powerless. Keep that in mind, always.

(--and the war profiteers never fail to provide carnage for that purpose, especially when, say, 1.2 million Mexicans are out in the streets protesting fascist election fraud.) (1.2 million Mexican protesters pushed to page 2--and also downsized to 600,000 "by some estimates.")

Unplug the TV. And cut up the newspaper and re-arrange it.
