When you think of stem cell in political sense, think turdblossom... |
|
Karl will turn this into a big plus for getting out their base. Just wait and see. It may seem like a no-brainer right now, but I think the Democrats are falling into a big trap. Just my opinion. Because the Democrats do not know how to defend their position, it will backfire on them.

1. I don't see what the veto gets em |
|
sure the lunatic fringe will sport a woodie... but even mainstream pukes have more common sense (i think.. or is that giving em too much credit)
I think there will be more blowback than points scored for the all the Republicans trying not to get thrown out of office.

2. No, he won't. This is a Wedge Issue that favors the Democrats. |

Stop falling for Mediawhore spin, if that's where you got this mistaken idea.
Only a TINY fraction of Bush's base get 'fired' up over this.

6. ANd we should not assume that this fires up the Democratic base either |
|
The Republicans will use this in the framework of the abortion issue. We'll visit this later if Congress does not override the Bush veto. I doubt they will, but they might, just so they can use it for an "issue".

3. Completely agree with you on this, kentuck! |

From the moment Karl Rove made the announcement Bush would veto it.

7. It's short term strategy to keep the majority. |
|
For 'safe' seats, it's not going to matter. Need to look at those iffy House races.

5. Karl will earn the emnity of his own party |
|
cons like Specter and others aint gettin any younger. Running away from Bush** is not an effective strategy-- everyone knows who let things get this bad in the first place.
If this is Karl's best strategy, then Karl is in real trouble.
