Apparently, the wingnutosphere has the vapors because Hillary used the word "plantation" to describe the GOP-led congress.

Too bad for them Google exists. Too bad for them Atrios and Aravosis used it:

If Hillary needs to apologize for using the word "plantation" to describe the GOP, I can't wait for the media to now demand apologies from:

Townhall.com

The National Review

The Wall Street Journal

Rush Limbaugh Show

Newsmax

The Washington Times

Bob Novak

FLASHBACK: Gingrich Said Democrats Think They “Run The Plantation”

How long before the media mentions that Newt Gingrich, just before becoming Speaker of the House, made the same comparison in 1994:

“I clearly fascinate them,” Gingrich said of the Democrats. “I’m much more intense, much more persistent, much more willing to take risks to get it done. Since they think it is their job to run the plantation, it shocks them that I’m actually willing to lead the slave rebellion.”

Clinton Slams Bush, White House in Harlem

NEW YORK -- Sen. Hillary Clinton on Monday blasted the Bush administration as "one of the worst" in U.S. history and compared the Republican-controlled House of Representatives to a plantation where dissenting voices are squelched.

.............

The House "has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about," said Clinton, D-N.Y. "It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."

"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

3. It was cool, though, when Newt used the same term and referred to
himself as the leader of the slave rebellion, though!

Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP!

4. My ancestors owned a plantation.....
Lithia Springs in Ga. Judge John C. Bowden freed his slaves upon the announcement of the emancipation proclamation - and paid a fair wage to those who chose to stay on and work for him.

He also allowed the Union army to use the plantation buildings as a hospital, so Sherman did not
burn the plantation on his march to the sea.

I'm a democrat.

The main house, springs (whose waters contain Lithium), and much of the grounds are now a state park. The city of Lithia Springs grew up around the plantation.
