I was called a 'Godless' Democrate for voting against Ralph Reed
in GA on a AJC blog. Read this blog about last nights election - some precious comments. There were some real lunatic Christian Reichers on there, but they got their upcometh. Real entertaining stuff...

http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/shared-blogs/ajc/politicalinsider/entries/2006/07/18/if_youre_a_democrat_who_voted.html

From 'Crazy' Anne
It is a sin that all these Democrats voted in the Republican Party primary today. They will burn in hell—these “godless” people called Democrats.

&

Yes Donkey Kong ALL Democrats —ie the “godless everyone of them” and they are still “godless” today if you read the Bible and see what they stand for—voted against Reagan. I ignore Jesus’ teaching on “divorce” as Ronald Reagan had two living wives and was the only President to be divorced. Reagan and Reed—the real Christians!

my response:

Those who think democrates are godless need to stop drinking so much cool-aid. Sounds like they would be right at home at Jonestown. Last thing we need is another cult.

happen? What's up with that, Pat and Jerry?

follows, Anne Coultergeist, as she uses the term "godless" in quotes. Your response to her was excellent. Bravo to you and all the other Democrats who marched to the polls yesterday to defeat Ralphie Reed. :toast:

At 9:10 PM EST it appears that Georgia and its Godless Democrats is leading The United States of America to hell in a handbasket by denying Ralph Reed the nomination. Oh, what have we done, to be so punished America? Pray that I don’t turn back to drink—I’ve just had my fourth cigarette tonight and I quit 8 years ago!

made her fall of the wagon - at least religion isn't her only crutch.

After she couldn't get a cabbie - I was going to suggest she grab the nearest broomstick & fly home.

“When religion ruled the world, it was called the Dark Age.”

You were referring to Evangelicals when you wrote this. Remember, Evengelicals are not very “religious.” They meet in strip malls and mega churches. There are no rituals, as there is no central authority except for the Bible, which was produced by the Catholics. So a Ralph Reed revolution could hardly be called a religious one, or be compared to Dark Ages as there is no “Church” to oppress its members. Each Evangelical is his own “pope”, if you will.

An Evangelical’s faith is not based on fiction, it is based on unbelievable facts. That’s what makes it “faith.” If the facts are believable, it’s only “belief.”

In other words, right-ing evangelical xtians twist the word of God, even to the point of allowing right-wing politics to corrupt faith.

20. Eavgirl, you're wrong. Evangelicals are what we used to refer to as the
mentally insane. Anyone who has 'faith' in 'unbelievable facts' is called delusional!

15. I can top it.
We I was lobbying with PAN last year a Bishop once told me that I deserved PD because I wanted to harness babies for my own ends. What the hell is wrong with the thirty percent that support President Cruel. Thankfully the good Christians that I know aren't like that.

29. That was good for a laugh!!
That was fairly obvious satire; combine the name "Anne" and "godless" in quotation marks, and you should have seen it - a parody of Coulter!!

I also thought "God Warrior" was funny, although perhaps that person should have talked about Georgia voters being "dark sided" and "slackicks" to clue everyone in.

31. I really don't think that many Dems voted in the Pub primary here
in Ga. If you look at the total % or voter turnout in each party, it's pretty close!

I know I voted in the Dem because I was more concerned about which Dem should win than I was, at this point, about who the Pub was going to be!

In fact, if Crazy Anne really paid attention to what was circulating on the net, she would know there were suggestions that Dems vote in the Pub primary FOR REED because he would be much easier to beat!

32. godless democrat
is that supposed to be some kind of slur? I'm all for people being able to believe and express whatever deity they follow, but should this really be looked at as a putdown? I know the intention, but it doesn't bother me at all. I wish I could have told the lady "so what"?
