7. Umm actually, you are thinking about Hamas not Hezbollah |
|
The problem with trying to instill democracy in the middle east is that they will tend to elect populists and that means Hamas in Palestine and Hezbollah in Lebanon and the extreme elements of the Iraqui Parliament.
Condi told Stephanopoulus on Sunday that for the last 6o years US Administrations traded for stabiliity and security. She might well be right but it is naive to think thatyou can inject democracy into the Islamic world which is sick to death of the crusaders and their puppets regimes and expect to get Luxembourg or New Zealand over night.
The neo-cons naivete leads to folks like Chalabi on one side and Hezbollah on the other when we open the Pandora's Box of regime change.

8. No Hezbollah has two Members of parliament |
|
in the Lebanese legislature. Government is both the majority and the minority in the executive and legislative branches.

2. He's doing a heck of a job of it, isn't he? |
|
I'm afraid Lebanon's chances for retaining their new democracy are dwindling with every day its people are terrorized.

3. Tony Snow looks like a creature from "Night of the Living Dead." |
|
He wouldn't need any makeup, either. What is it with his eyes? They are just flat spooky looking, like he's dead.
It's also quite obvious he's a big liar. No surprise there.

4. You're making that up, right? |
|
Really. You sure you heard right?
How does anyone protect that government by letting another country blow up its infrastructure and kill hundreds of its own citizens?
Some one is doing mind altering drugs ... of course, it might be Bush and Snow.

5. 23 Members of the Democratically Elected government in Lebanon |
|
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 12:05 PM by ShortnFiery
are from the political branch of Hezbollah. I guess if Israel doesn't like them or the FACT that Hamas legitimately won, democratic election in Palestine - well, it's A OK by the USA if Israel goes tear assing around Gaza and Lebanon - KILLING everyone in the party who THEY consider a Terrorist. Militants and civilians alike. And, so what if scores of innocents get killed. As the USA Sniper glibly said of killing innocents, "The chick got in the way."
What have these Neo-Conservative ghouls turned this once COMPASSIONATE (or at least less war like) Country into?!?
And our blessed elected democrats are NOT helping ... they must have stock in the Corporations who "war profiteer."
This is sick! We will have to protest to stop this madness. I personally will not ever vote for a democrat who wishes to only censure Lebanon's sub-party Hezbollah. There are PRODUCTIVE elements of Hezbollah, the entire organization is NOT filled with thugs and terrorists like the Republican Party is not filled with all Right Wing Nut Cases.

11. Well, the current Iraq elections aren't either |
|
Is the current president the one that they elected? I think they are on their 3rd president now, and I believe that only 1 was elected. Bush only cares about democracy if it is convenient for him to.
