Why I don't think Bush "groped" PM Merkel, or "massaged" her.
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 12:12 PM by WinkyDink
I think he was performing the "laying on of hands". I mentioned this briefly on the huge thread. Here's some support for this theory:

"He summoned to the governor's mansion all the leading pastors of the region to carry out a ritual of "laying on of hands," a practice that corresponds above all to ministerial ordination."
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20031222/stam

His family:
Jeb Bush praised Scientologists for "delivering controversial “touch assist” healings that supposedly help victims through the laying on of hands."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7384923/

His Administration:
"To tie down the religious conservatives, they nudged John Ashcroft out of the race and conducted a literal laying on of hands at the governor’s mansion with leaders such as James Dobson."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9651882

I think this behavior also explains Bush's bizarre need to place his hands on bald heads as well as on children's heads.

IOW: What Bush did wasn't---to him---sexual or joking; it was his delusional Messiah Complex at work. I can't reconcile his determined yet affectless expression with any other interpretation.

1. ROFL, sorry but ROFL
bush is the most obvious faux christian I have seen, he has absolutely no respect for real Christians or anyone else other than those he calls his base, you know, "the haves and the have mores".

7. One has only to look at a REAL Christian like former President
Jimmy Carter who is too busy practicing his beliefs to be preaching about them as opposed to bush who pretends to be Christian when it is politically expedient. I have not found the US media to be reporters of fact but rather regurgitators of propaganda so citing those sources don't do much for me, I prefer to use my own eyes and ears and judge based on the old saw "actions speak louder than words" and bush's actions are the most unchristian actions I could contemplate.

6. I think it's more likely he was trying out his "Vulcan nerve pinch" on her
...maybe that's why he ran away so fast when she didn't instantly fall unconscious. "Dang, but it always worked when ol' Dr. Spock did it!"

8. i don't think so but i also don't think it was sexual harassment
what i think is that he has no idea how a president should conduct himself nor does he care. He is a total embarrassment.

9. Can you see him doing that to Putin?
Come off it, if Merkel had been a male, she would have been unmolested.

He was acting like a drunken frat boy at a mixer, one who thought he was entitled to put his hands on any woman in the room.

18. Men touching women intimately or casually in a business setting
can sometimes be seen as a way of establishing dominance or making women submissive. In this case a chimp using body language to show its dominance over the female members of the group. Its not uncommon in the business world.

I'm surprised he didn't jump up on the table and thump his chest.

21. I agree OzarkDem
I posted this in the mega thread and it still has me thinking about his motives.

Georgie giving Angela a little shake down? Wonder what he wants?
This is from the transcript of the Bush and Blair show when he was stuffing his face....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...

Blair, standing over Bush as the president eats, tries to engage on the stalled global trade negotiations.

Blair : On this trade thing . . .

Some of the ensuing conversation is inaudible. Blair evidently wants Bush to make a statement on the talks.

Bush : If you want me to. I just want some movement. Yesterday, I didn't see much movement. The desire's to move.

Blair : No, no there's not. It may be that it's impossible.

Bush : I'll be glad to say it. Who's introducing me?

Blair : Angela.

Bush : Tell her to call on me. Tell her to put me on the spot.

22. He's not even interested
in hearing anyone else's POV. He has his way and no other, its obvious from what he's saying. He has no boundaries, no restraint - just pure unfettered ego, greed and aggression.

Expect to see diplomatic fallout from this one.

26. I haven't called Bush a TRUE Christian,
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 02:09 PM by WinkyDink
as in the Sermon on the Mount. OF COURSE he's not a TRUE one! Yes, he is phony in regards to MORALITY. But in regards to the doctrine of Militant, End-times, Dominionist "Christianity", I think that is a reasonable and documented way to view HIS views and concomitant behaviors. HE IS DELUSIONAL.

Maybe a 4-second touch IS a "massage", or a blank look IS "flirting" or "domineering". I don't agree.
