4. Wasn't it just last month that

Sudan said 'no' to UN peacekeepers, when it was brought up again. The UN and African Union agree that they want the UN to take over. The AU, it was reported today, needs more money to keep it's useless 7000 observers in Darfur; that's the number Sudan allows, and they go where Sudan says they can go, when Sudan says. Sudan's blocking aid and monitors in the east of the country, it was recently reported.

And the ceasefire worked out between Khartoum and the Fur rebel groups is pretty much in freefall.

Meanwhile, there were protests in Khartoum a while back, Islamist students threatening their blood and souls against the Crusaders should they extend their Crusade into Darfur on the pretext of helping the Fur, while actually seeking to get the oil and crush Islam. The surrounding countries wouldn't allow overflights or staging; and do we want more white Christian American's killing brown-skinned Muslims in an oil-bearing region because the central government is allegedly killing its own citizens? Sa'udi Arabia was proud of the shari'a-enforcement announcement from Khartoum, and haven't backed down.
