Ok. Instant Karma. Will Dimson be afflicted with an incurable disease |
|
I know it's rather harsh, but the veto today by Bush is an incredible travesty. Those people (and their loved ones who also suffer) afflicted with ALS, Alzeimers, Diabetes, and other incurable diseases are looking for some kind of hope. Something, anything, that can return them to the way they were before.
However, Bush throws all these people under the bus. Roughly 70% of Americans are for the funding of stem cell research, and even a Republican controlled senate passed a bill for the go ahead. Yet, the cold-hearted monster occupying the White House used this occassion to utilize his FIRST VETO striking down the legislation.
So, will karma come around to Dimson? Will he someday come down with a disease that may have been cured had he signed the legislation? Or,will one of his loved ones come down with something? Will we someday be watching a tearful Laura Bush pleading with public officials to make advancements in stem cell research?
One thing about the hard core right - they lack the ability to show sympathy toward others. However, they tend to change their minds once they themselves are somehow affected (check Nancy Reagan, for instance). It will be interesting to hear about the health of the BFEE in the near future.
Dimson - you're getting up there, and by your performance, you look like a perfect candidate for Alzeimers. Instant Karma's gonna get ya.

2. I'm not sure but that he already is |
|
Alzheimer's might be already starting in him...but it could also be the effects of alcohol/drug abuse.

3. Like I said earlier, the irony of his veto is |
|
that stem cells might be able to provide insight into treatements, causes, and--potentially, eventually--cures for

5. I've seen that kind of Karma many times |
|
I had a cousin who said I my friend's baby (born with CP, micro-cephaly and multiple other issues) was hers she would be put away in a home where no one could see her. Not five years later, without warning, said evil cousin gave birth to a beautiful little baby girl... with micro-cephaly.
I will never with illness upon another human being, but if Karma were to exact retribution upon Bush, I wouldn't be surprised.

6. Is it possible for a disease to *have* a disease? |
|
Even when the time comes that he needs the benefit of stem cell research, he will find a way to rationalize his need because he's so much more superior to everyone else, don'tcha know, and he'd be flying out of the country for the best medicine that science can offer.

7. Americans will suffer because of this. |
|
Due to the trend in obesity, many Americans, including young children, are going to get diabetes. Bush dismantling most of Clinton's environmental safety nets is causing more toxins to be released into the environment, which means more afflictions of the nervous system that stem cell research might have been able to help. Jerry Lewis may as well give up the telethon. No amount of donations are going to help those with muscular diseases without stem cell research, which is the best hope yet for finding a cure.

8. I have no doubt at all that this has created bad karma for him |
|
It may not be instant, and it probably wouldn't be as obvious as his developing a disease that could have been cured by the research he stopped, but oh yeah, karma is on its way.
I personally don't believe that karma is punishment, more that it's a learning experience--but I do believe that what goes around comes around, if not in this lifetime than in the next.
Considering what he has just sentenced millions of people to, all for his own political gain, he will have a lot of learning to do.

10. if his karma ever did catch up with him |
|
he'd wish for an incurable disease. He has unleashed so much death and suffering and misery on so many people, here and abroad, it boggles the mind.
That being said, I don't wish on him anything other than prosecution for his crimes.

this is going to deflect down the line, watch one of the twins give birth to a child that could benefit from stem cells.
