MSNBC just did a segment on Israel's high-tech tracking room |
|
They say Israel has the ability to locate and track every soldier in the IDF. I assume this is because these soldiers are wearing locators somewhere on their person, or perhaps even have some kind of implant.
My question: if they can track these guys, why do you think they've been unable to locate those three abducted IDF soldiers?
I'm asking as a technological naif. Maybe the answer is as simple as "Hezbollah stripped the soldiers of their uniforms," but do you think this level of technology is widely known over there?

1. Maybe there is a range |
|
to how far away they can be. Maybe they are being held underground. I suppose there are plenty of answers to why the technology would be limited.
I find it odd that MSNBC would mention that Israel has the ability to track its soldiers.

2. Well, it might be similar to those GM Onstar programs |
|
that can even unlock your car for you. I don't think it is out of the question for Hezbollah to presume Israel has that technology. After all, we're the ones who helped arm them.

The US should probably be doing the same thing. As for why they cannot be tracked, maybe they can be and that's part of what the just introduced ground forces are working on.

soldiers are held, the longer Israel has an excuse to continue the offensive against Hizballah.

that can be tracked anywhere on the planet.
But extreme technology can be negated by the simplest of actions, i.e., removing all issued gear.
That would be the second thing I would do (after cuffing and blindfolding).

8. On a slightly different subject: The technology is available that |
|
would allow the IDF to pinpoint the exact location from which the Hezbollah missiles are coming from. Why haven't they been able to stop the attacks? Probable reason: They need the shelling from the Hezbollah bottle rockets to justify their continued assaults on Lebanon and Palestine.
