1. Heh heh... you know he's sunk when the freepers talk shit about him
and the posts aren't deleted!

The mind boggles. Of all the legislation that he could have vetoed up to now (CFR and bloated budgets come to mind), he chooses this one to finally learn how to spell "veto"!

Way to go. Bush goes against the majority of Congress and 70% of American people to push his personal religious point of view.
Mr President, where was your veto pen when it came to CFR, bloated budgets, and dozens of other bad bills????

FYI, the Code of Fed Regs (CFR) is not not about protecting the environment...It's more to do w/ administrative governmental requirements and regulations for a whole host of things, for example cost principles for spending federal funding (I work w/ them on a daily basis).

I gave up with the idiot with the sig "The Democratic Party is the party of TREASON"

Anyway, why would the freepcreeps be so hot and bothered over this? This is the clown THEY BACKED and now they want to cry foul??? It's not like no one saw this coming, and besides, I thought that this was supposedly such a point of pride that Bush doesn't cater to popularity polls when he makes a "dicideration." They should be high-fiving instead of running from their own blind right-wing myopia.

12. Here's one I find too annoying to be funny
"Good for the President! All I can say is, if embryonic stem cell research is the boon to medicine that some say, why is federal funding needed to conduct it? Don't Glaxo Smith-Kline and Pfizer and Bayer have their own R&D funds????"

This one really bit from the 'free market religion' apple. There are many, MANY diseases that could be cured if it were profitable to cure them. Just saw a show the other day about how Parkinson's could have been cured by now if there were funding. There are numerous examples of such diseases, most are rare, some are not so rare. Stem cell research is another example of the failure of market principles to improve life. People like the freeper quoted above spread like a cancer, and are just as deadly.

Market principles produce Viagra, not necessarily cures for deadly diseases. That's why we need federal funding. Bush is the Cancer-in-Chief.

If it had been required to show a profit.

Now that I think about it that may not have been such a bad idea. A good deal of the focus would have been shifted towards utilizing fission as an energy source, rather than a destructive force.

Thank you, Dear God, that our President has chosen life and truth. May Your Name be praised and glorified! Amen.
So "life" now begins in a test tube, eh? Well, I've read the Bible many times and I see many references to "womb" mentioned where life begins but I have yet to have seen the word "test tube". Please enlighten me and tell me where I might find it so I can join with you who worship a zygote and blastocyst that would (and by law in cases where owners demand often are) ordinarily be discarded instead of used for research as, IMHO, perhaps God would want SO WE COULD INDEED SAVE MORE WHO CHOOSE TO LIVE!

Who reads FR?
Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic since inception in 1996 and our forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and all around the world. Oh, we're big stuff all right: See Traffic Rank on Alexa.com.

What the current Alexa traffic graph looks like:

http://traffic.alexa.com/graph?w=379&h=216&r=6m&z=&y=r&u=freerepublic.com/&u=

Looks like Mr. Big Stuff needs some of Rush's Viagra.

The other funny thing is, I've looked for this article over there several times today. Nobody seems to want to talk about it over there. (Although I might be missing it--their search engine is crap.)

35. The freeps may bitch about Bush for this or that but the real reason
they're complaining is the war. They're pissed off that he's bungled the war. They don't want to admit it because that would mean they're agreeing with the anti-war left. So they will find other reasons to complain. They'll fain some outrage over stem-cell research or spending or environmental regs or immigrants but deep down it's the war. They're stuck with defending a losing cause and looking like morons. Life's a bitch.

meaning, there are plenty of times where shit i see here really is not different at all from what they do there. just a different focus and set of assumptions. the net result being the same, cf. the current electronic diahrrea explosion regarding israel and lebanon.

Bush goes against the majority of Congress and 70% of American people to push his personal religious point of view.

He is though on the side that a majority of conservative reps are.
Your claim that 70% of Americans favor embryonic stem cell culling is an outright lie. If you don't appreciate living in a country founded on the precepts of Judeo-Christianity then I'd suggest you vacate the United States.
