Ok so then what his position on creating these embryos |
|
Shouldn’t he be against these people adopting frozen embryos. I mean isn’t that exactly what he says he’s against. Here is a group of people that took human parts to make humans. I could respect Bushes position a lot more if I could understand exactly what it is. He appears to for the use of these embryo’s if they make people. But it’s not so simple. Doesn’t this encourage people to use these processes to make even more unwanted embryos who’s fate is to be disposed of as biohazard waste. If he’s against the use of these embryos for research shouldn’t he also be extremely against the industry that creates these countless unwanted embryos. And yet there he is in a room with people that exploit the system for their own benefit and encourage the production of more and more unwanted frozen embryos.

Agree 100%. Busch doesn't have a clue why he vetoed the bill. He was told to so he did.

used in-vitro to produce the twins. I wonder if many of his rabid anti-choice supporters are aware of that?

And it's absurd to think that all of those frozen embryos will be 'adopted' and grown into children. They will be discarded; wasted. He's an ass.

7. i'd love to adopt a frozen embryo |
|
do you think there would be follow up like making sure it's going to a good home? or that the embryo isn't being mistreated. is there a visit from a social worker?
do embryos get along with dogs and cats? so many questions.

4. "God's Will" can be tweaked when it's time for rich white folks |
|
to get "help" creating those embryos...What if God intended those people to be "barren", and humans DEFIED GOD by intevening?
All over the bible there are references to this woman and that, being BARREN... Not once is there a mention of a petri dish or a pipette...
Fundies are very selective ...

5. That was Tom Harkin's question too! |
|
He said he was positive that if he asked the question on the Senate floor "Who is willing to sponsor a bill to outlaw in vitro." He was positive he would get NO ONE!

frozen microscopic embryo cells have more value than a living human being in need.....So, if he had to choose between saving the cells or the human from a burning building, tough luck for the living being.

Than there might be some good in having an embryo ban.

10. Where was the PRO LIFE movement when the embroyos were created? |
|
Why didn't they oppose making MULTIPLE embroyos, just to freeze some of them. Or how about having preplanned adoptions for any that aren't used for the couple who created them so that NON of them would have to be frozen and eventually thrown away?
They should have made it a policy then to allow one fertilization at a time.
Their thinking was and still is warped.

13. I think it's clear to me |
|
Bush doesn't even understand what the debate is about. I think it's clear he has no interest in doing the job of president he simply loves the ego-feast that comes with being president. Here is not a simple subject that needs real consideration and he instead gave it no consideration. He gives a speech that demonstrates he doesn't understand what the heart of the subject matter is and yet he is suppose to have been focused on this issue for well over 5 years!

15. The fundies better get to work adopting those embryos |
|
So far there is less than 150 snowflake babies while even the fundies admit there are 400,000 frozen embryos. IMHO Bush and the fundies are a bunch of hypocrites or as Mr. Spock said - illogical. If they are so damned concerned each of these embryos represent a life - then they need to ban the in vitro fertilization. There's a lot of embryos that are killed in that process alone.
I'll be interested if any of these hypocrites will ever get treatment for an ailment that came about from stem cell research.
