Ross, I hear that big sucking sound. In fact, that big sucking sound is the only thing I can hear nowadays.

House Votes to Protect Pledge of Allegiance's "under God"

The House of Representative has passed a bill which would bar the Supreme Court from striking the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. Largely supported by Republicans in the 247-173 vote, the bill is expected to die without a vote in the Senate, when Congress adjourns this fall. The bill was spurred by the failed court challenge against the constitutionality of the Pledge by a California atheist earlier this year. The words "under God" were added to the Pledge in 1954.

9. They not only want Dems to vote against it, but they want it to either fai
or be challenged in court.

And it will.

Just in time for the election.

Anyone stupid enough to vote for Republicans after all this bullshit deserves to live in poverty, deserves to be a servant to the top 1%, deserves to have their children killed in a BushCo war, deserves to be spied on and monitored, and deserves to have all of their rights taken away.

Its just too bad they have to drag the rest of us down the gutter with them.

10. Whew, I'll sleep better tonight knowing the
Pledge is safe. :sarcasm:

The fools in the House can do whatever they want with protecting the Pledge. When I recite the Pledge, I'll continue to stay silent during the "Under God" part of it.

What a bunch of fucking clowns. :grr:
