Stem Cell Veto: any chance of flipping 68 Repukes? |
|
The Stem Cell bill Bush vetoed had very strong bipartisan support....
and very strong public support...
BUT...
not a veto-proof majority in either house.
Is there a possibility of turning 60 House Republicans (more than needed--all we need is 50) and 8 Senate Republicans (once again, more than needed--we need five) to vote Yea on overturning Shrub's veto?

They only voted in favor of it because they were promised Bush would veto it. They now get to play both sides of the issue in the '06 election cycle.

8. It already failed in the House |

It will have to wait until next year when there isn't an election coming up.
