Blame The Victims-Families Leaving Lebanon Should Stop Whining & Bitching
BLAME THE VICTIMS

The New Republic folks show their sympathy for folks trying to get out of Lebanon.

Why families would take their kids for long summer vacations into this environment is beyond me. But many have, and a lot of them have been whining on television about how the U.S. government didn't rescue them promptly (and comfortably) from the touristic mayhem they put themselves in on their own volition and despite the feds' detailed descriptions of general and specific menace in the country. Many of those who bitched for the cameras seem to me to be especially petulant, even those who have already arrived in Cyprus. They complained about accommodations and the shortage of food, as if they were on a Greek Island cruise boat suddenly deserted by the chef. No sense of individual responsibility either for having put themselves in harm's way despite State's effort to keep them at home ... or maybe go to Venice instead.

1. I've heard that from other righties too...we shouldn't have to pay
to get these reckless people with their reckless choices out of there.

2. I've seen a couple people here say it, too.
How very stupid of people to go visit their families in a country whose only major airport was going to be bombed to smithereens.

:sarcasm:

7. You have to understand the mindset
of these people.
Their life is sleep, work, get off work, sleep
their fathers and grandfathers did the same thing and they turned out fine!
therefor, that's what is in store for their lives also.
work until you die, and be happy about it
Very common thinking over here in WV.

It makes me laugh when I tell them about my recent trip to France
I can tell their brains are trying to comprehend travel to a diffrent country, and I get a mental picture of an old ford pinto struggling to start, then after a few backfires, dies in a smoking cloud:rofl:

how sad is it that all these people have to think about is another day of work?
while I'm lining up a camping trip to Toronto next year
-or Germany, haven't decided yet
I feel sorry for them

3. For half a trillion dollars a year I expect our citizens to be protected.
Why does New Republic hate taxpaying Americans?

4. Why not they blamed Katrina Victims too
They blame and point but never take responsibility they claim everyone else should take.

They can't own that their vote supported a criminal, who cares two shits for their lives or anyone else on this earth.

8. Some are always envious of people who travel beyond Yellowstone
or Tours of the Civil War Battlefield..

Foreign travel..REAL foreign travel..usually involves people with passports..with connections to the BIG WORLD outside our own sphere of influence..

I would not be going far out on a limb to suggest that a LOT of Americans got stranded in Europe when war broke out...or in Asia when war broke out there.. I recall many a movie made about the heroic efforts to rescue rich westerners from the Philippines, or British Empire countries..

People who travel, often find themselves hostage to "events beyond their control".. It's WHY we pretend to have embassies and consulates all over the world.. They are often portrayed as THE place to go for expats and travelers, when there is trouble,.,

In modern times though, nothing could be further from the truth.. You are truly on your own EVERYWHERE ...especially when there's a republican administration, and those foreign posts are occupied by political cronies who donated a lot of money to the resident of the white house.

True diplomats are rare these days.. It's not unusual for an ambassador to not even speak the language of the country he/she is assigned to..

10. There's a movie about DP's (displaced persons) and citizens abroad
... during the outbreak of WW2. It's called 'White House' ('Casablanca'). :dunce: :silly:

15. Well, I didn't want to mention "Father Goose"
... since that was about some French people who got caught behind Japanese lines. We know the French don't really count. It was the good ol' YewEssAye who had to rescue 'em, as usual of course.

:patriot: :dunce:  :silly:

9. The "rescue" of Americans in southern Lebanon may be an excuse
... for a confrontation of U.S. military forces with Hizb'allah. The General (supposedly) in charge of evacuation of American citizens was questioned about this on CNN by Anderson Cooper, but it was not made at all clear who these 'citizens' were or how they supposedly communicated their desire for 'rescue' (presumably by helicopter).

All I could do was listen with mouth agape in a :wtf: mode. I can just barely imagine what would happen if these choppers claimed they drew fire - or if there was a wag the "Blackhawk down" incident.

Our country is being run by madmen in league with madmen murdering civilians in pursuit of madmen murdering civilians.

12. "Touristic Mayhem"?! It's a freakin' war zone!
The USG dragged its feet rescuing these folks - they've got every right to bitch. On top of everything else, this Administration wanted them to pay or sign a promissory note to pay for their rescue. Absolutely, jaw-dropping unbelievable.

They've already paid for this rescue with their tax dollars - or did that rag bother to stop and think about that? No, The National Review is too busy thinking up excuses for the incompetence of The Village Idiot and his confederates.

13. At first I thought you were quoting Rush Limbaugh.
On "The Majority Report" tonight on AAR, they quoted him saying something similar.
