I thought part of freedom was tolerating things you don't agree with?

So why is it that Hezbollah TV is banned here?

Is there any website that streams it? I would have never wanted to watch it, but now that I'm being told I can't, I want to, just to see what they show on there.

5. Cable and satellite companies can choose which channels to carry.
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 09:56 PM by Eric J in MN
Beyond that, I don't know what "Hezbollah TV" is or whether there is actually a law or regulation against it in the US.

I can tell you that the English language version of Al Jazeerah hasn't found any cable or satellite companies willing to carry it yet. English-language Al Jazeerah may start in the Fall in Europe.

Money from Hezbollah TV would go to Hezbollah which is a terrorist organization.

20. Who defines what is a "terrorist organization" and what is NOT?
Many in Iraq would choose the US Military as TERRORISTS.

This labeling is bull shit!

There are NO innocent waring factions. NONE!

In war, BOTH the Israeli Government and Hezbollah are the TERRORISTS killing innocents. :grr: :puke:

14. well, i've never heard of...
"Hezbollanian" TV either, and suspect it's either al-Jazeera, or it's Arab competetor. But if you want an interesting look at how the media is playing this in Israel, check out Jonathan Cook's piece ("Is Israel using Arab villages as human shields?") at www.counterpunch.com.

17. I think they do have a station -- and the main tower was hit by Israel
but they have/had backup plans in place. I'm pretty sure I read that in The Guardian or Observer, one yesterday.

22. What's sad is many in this thread think this is some sort of joke.
I've had like 3 people say "Do you mean Al-Jazeera?".

No I don't mean Al-Jazeera, if I did, thats what I would say.

So why, in a free country, is this banned? Even if it's shit we don't agree with.

18. "Banned"? I don't know if something is banned just because your cable
company doesn't carry it.

I'm sure there are public access channels in Borneo that you don't get, too.

Try the internet- I bet you can find it.

CNN keeps showing footage of it, and saying it's banned in America.

It has nothing to do with my cable...
