What happened to AMAPOUR WIRED/CIA GIVES IRAN NUKE PLANS?

About two weeks ago DU was buzzing with a story NBC's Andrea Mitchell planted in our midst about how she and NBC were working on a story about how Bush had wiretapped CNN's Christine Amanpour. This had everyone excited, because Amanpour's husband was a campaign adviser for Kerry in 2004. PLUS, it was about WIRETAPPING A JOURNALIST!!!!The leftie press covered it over the weekend to the exlcusion of almost everything else.

I was VERY suspicious of this nonstory, that was giving the White House a whole lot of smokescreen coverage. At the exact same time, the NYT reporter who exposed Bush Wiretapped had a story appear in the LA Times. It was revealed that in 2004 the CIA cooked up a plan to throw Iran's nulcear weapons program off track by giving them an almost perfect recipie for a nuke with a few modifications. A Russian who be the middle man. Iran was not to know of the mods. However, the Russian was a double agent, he told Iran about the mods. Apparentlty. the mods were so minor that experts now say that any competent Russian nuclear scientist could find and correct them, giving Iran a WORKING blueprint for a nuke straight from the CIA. The CIA responded by saying they wouldnt talk about it and it was no big deal.

A few internet sites including TruthOut covered it, even some Right Wing sites (calling it a Clinton plot. But this story got no traction with the usual left wing internet sites and quickly died.

I say that Andrea Mitchell was used by the administration to generate a smokescreen to keep all the lefties busy that weekend so that the story would not ferment on the internet where it could then be picked up by the MSM. I mean, didnt anyone wonder when the story came from Andrea? We are talking serious WH whore?

Think about it and do not let yourself be duped by the likes of Andrea Mitchell and the Rove media propaganda machine. They have been using the smokescreen trick to their advantage too long. Hell, they buried the FERC's revelation that Enron price gouged California by announcing it seven days into the invasion of Iraq and timed the Gore Won 2000 announcement for the day after 9-11/
