1. Personally, I admire both of these guys. They're flawed humans |

with some sins on their tally sheet, but they are using what they have, both financially and in terms of connections and inherent abilities, to do accomplish the most good they can.
Cheers to the two Bills.

"Clinton is relaxed and warm. He lingers; he has time for everyone. He seems to have a genuine liking for people. He gives a speech of thanks at the clinic and all around people are loving him, while Bill and Melinda stand alongside, fading into the background.
You believe that Clinton cares. The focus on the human, on the individual, the stories about the brother and sister in the Bahamas for whom he got Aids drugs and whom he visits every year tell you that. And he banks the adulation and approbation to use as leverage later on."

It gives such a clear view of different personalities and different styles working towards a shared vision.
This is a very bright spot in an otherwise turbulant world and it made me smile.
Thanks for posting!

"Regardless of anyone's views on Microsoft's business practices, it is an attitude that has to command respect. As he says himself, no government facing election every four years would take such risks. He is not standing in for rich governments - he is doing what they do not dare to do. If this is what philanthropy is about in our times, perhaps we should just be glad."
Of course regardless of anyones views that's been the "view" of Microsoft since time began period. They don't care about you in fact they will bury you, given half a chance they would strangle your children in their cribs, get a grip. Not only does it not have to "command respect" but anyone that thinks that they can "command respect" in any way shape or form is DEMENTED. I don't know anyone that has used their products and hasn't come away howling in pain. But we should be glad? Drop dead Bill Gates!
Clinton? He is philanthropicaly inserting himself right? Clinton has no monetary incentive not one? If you believe a man that has been hanging out with Poppy Bush is an ok soul you are profoundly naive.

5. You're absolutely right |
|
Not only are both clearly incapable of doing good, they shouldn't be allowed to try.
