2. Yes they are...
But then again I can find a great deal of Anti-Arab, Anti-Muslim cartoons the world over.

What does it prove?

Hate is Hate, and is equally stupid and distructive, no matter who the hater or hated is.

Peace.

5. Oh puh-leaze!
If Israeli or even Jewish papers published anything even remotely as Islamaphobic, that shit would be all over DU being used to emphasize what 'demons' the Israelis are! The fact is, shit like that is NOT published in Israeli papers!

7. Not sure if this is from an Israeli paper...

But it is from an Israeli website...

http://www.science.co.il/Arab-Israeli-conflict/Articles/Terrorism.asp

I don't read many Israeli papers, so please excuse me for my lack of examples.

If indeed Israeli cartoonists and editors don't publish anti-Muslim/Arab cartoons in order not to upset their Arab minority, or for any other reason, then I fully comend them.

Good for them

Peace

15. That Isn't Anywhere As Stereotypical As The Rabbi Image
Yesterday I thought I heard there were two suicide bombing attacks within Israel...bombings on busses, in markets, banquet halls and any place people congregate to do as much devestation and kill as many as possible. This isn't a cartoon image to Israelis, it's a real one...and as the violence ratchets up in the region, so will these types of attacks. Sadly a wall was needed to segregate the two societies from further brutality. A wall never keeps the outsiders out as much as it keeps the insiders in.

Looking at Arab cartoons...and this has been on-going since the earliest days of Israel...has been a demonization of Judiasm in a manner similar to that used by the Nazis...the dirty Jew...symbolized by the rabbi or chasid. It's a symbol akin to the Frito Bandito to Mexicans or Aunt Jemima to blacks...it's a racist stereotype meant to not attack a certain group of people or politicians, but an entire religion. The intention of those cartoons is hate for ALL Jews.

9. Actually,
though I see the OP's goal as simply an attempt at rabble rousing, anti-semitic cartoons and television programming are published widely throughout the arab world and in Iran, not particularly in Palestine.

10. There is no Palestine...yet.
And if you think that anti-semitic cartoons and television programming are not distributed there, well, you have been misled!

11. Is Saying Jews Are Descendants Of Pigs Punishment For The Occupation Too?
I thought their "beef" was with the Zionist occupiers and not Jews per se?

12. Expect more.
As violence spreads accross the middle east, who do you think will get the blame? The US and Israel. This is why its good also to look for solutions at the table as well. You can probably be assured more Americans will die from terrorist activities as well.

14. The thing to do
is look at these cartoons and see how they are perceiving not only Israel but also the West. It would be interesting to be able to go back to around WWI and see if there were any anti-Jewish cartoons in the papers at that time-or find out when they started to appear. What I see is a linkage between Jews and the West in these cartoons-from what little I have read about the last 100 years or so in the region, the Arabs have an equal, if not greater, grievance with the West than with Israel-they were betrayed after WWI when Britain and France did not help them towards independence but rather carved up spheres of influence, and I think that many of them see the creation and support of Israel by Western powers as yet another imposition upon their people.

What the cartoons do, of course, is to reinforce this version of history in the mind of the Arabs, while inflaming Israelis and their allies, who equate them with the anti-Semetic bias in Europe prior to WWII (and kindly remember that Jews had a hard time in many European countries, not just Germany; my grandmother in law's family fled the pogroms in Russia just before the turn of the last century).

Dan Gillerman the Israeli Ambassador to the UN:
"...You know, while it may be politically incorrect and maybe even untrue to say that all Muslims are terrorists, it happens to be very true that nearly all terrorists are Muslim. So this is not just Israel's war..."

(The above statement is incorrect by the way, Catholics and Protestants in Ireland, anarchists in the USA, Tim McVeigh in the USA, ETA in the Basque country, Tokyo nutcases (sarin attack).)

And he keeps saying that too. He said it on Fox when I was flipping the channel. I caught the last part of his interview where he said this, and it stood. You don't want to hear the thing that slipped out of his mouth (I can't prove it because O'Reilly doesn't have a transcript of it.) It was horrible and about 9/11.

We are supposed to be better than the people we are fighting. I am so sick of both sides in this conflict. I am sick of the Palestinians for targeting civilians on purpose and killing them. I am sick of Israel for killing more civilians than the people who actually say they are trying to kill civilians.
