AMEN GOLDIE!!!
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 06:30 AM by hexola
MSNBC - Evacuee interviews...

Goldie laid BushCO out...and painted a dismal picture.

Gotta like a guy who gets evacuated and still has the balls to call Bush out...

EDIT : See post 5 for a better explanation...

4. A New Yorker called Goldie...Evacuee
He was pretty cool...sorry my post was bit uninformative.

He said this was no defensive move...it looked like a major offensive.

As soon as all the foreigners are out - things will get really ugly...

Hundreds of civilians dead...and few Hezbollah...

9. MSNBC live interviews of Beirut evacuees at a US airport (BWI)
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 07:25 AM by CottonBear
These American citizens just disembarked from the charter plane trip from Cyprus. They survived four nights of bombing before taking helicopter rides and boats to safety and then a plane to the US.

Tom from Long Beach and his two small children (Ali, 7 and a girl, 9) got out on a cargo ship but the ride took 16 hours instead of 5 because Israel rerouted the ship. (The children were visiting their grandparents in Lebanon.) A US frigate gave them food for the children in the middle of the ocean. There were no facilities on the ship (I assume he meant sanitary facilities, food and water.)

David-Goldie said people are dying, children are dying and that the world is watching. He held up a paper (Lebanese?) with the headline "The Shame of A Nation" with a picture of the bombing. He excoriated the Bush administration for doing nothing and "allowing a script to play out."

More live interviews on MSNBC soon.

edit: sp. and correct content.
MSNBC says more live interviews after the 8:11 Am break...we'll see. Rove may not want those citizens telling the truth on live TV.

edit: The airport is BWI (Baltimore).

12. Baltimore.
BWI airport. The evacuee statements were heartbreaking. And they're the lucky ones who got out.
I'm surprised Goldie was allowed to speak, and that MSNBC didn't break for commercial.
This is such a tragedy.

14. Goldie and Tom spoke for at least 5-10 minutes live. Free speech & truth.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 07:27 AM by CottonBear
MSNBC did NOT broadcast any more of the evacuees press conference after they came back from commercial break. The BWI airport (charter flight from Cyprus landed at 6:40 AM EST) had a podium with mics set up and a huge amount of press and media were there. The evacuees were lining up to speak and tell their stories and tell the world the truth about what is happening to the Lebanese.

edit: MSNBC did air another live interview with David-Goldie after several commercial breaks. He was not at the podium. He was personally interviewd by the reporter at the airport.

5. He held a paper w/ the headline "The Shame Of A Nation" (Lebanese paper?)
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 06:41 AM by CottonBear
His name is David Mehirge (sp?) of East Village, Manhatten. He's a musician who "plays everything" known as Goldie. He said 300 civilians have died and that very few Hezbollah have been killed. He says the (Israeli) bombing is offensive not defensive.

Tom from Long Beach, CA said that everything David-Goldie said was correct. Children are being burned alive in Beirut. He had taken his two little kids to see theri grandparents in Lebanon. Those poor children have seen the horror of bombings and death. :(

10. You're welcome. MSNBC will interview more people in a few minutes.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 07:30 AM by CottonBear
I woke up and turned on the TV and there was this Lebabnese-American musician guy with wild hair just laying into BushCo on live TV. He was on air for at least 5 miinutes telling of his experince, the bombing, the political situation and how BushCo is "allowing a script to play out." He didn't hold back anything. I'm sure he'll be added to a Homeland Security list if his wasn't already on it.

Damn. It was the unvarnished truth from a fellow citizen on live TV. The reporters asked him many questions.

edit: sp.

13. Live interviews now on MSNBC @ BWI airport...plane landed at 6:40AM EST
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 06:51 AM by CottonBear
One person was at a wedding celebration that was bombed (sound familiar...?)

Tom from Long Beach spent 16 hours on a cargo ship with his two samll children (a normally 4 hour trip) to get to Cyprus.

MSNBC anchor and reporter talking now and saying that all evacuees grateful to be home and grateful to the US for helping to get them out BUT they (evacuees) are all telling of the horror and death being perpetrated upon the Lebanaese citizenry and that they are very upset about the bombing and they want the world to know what is happening.

MSNBC just showed the live press conference of evacues in the background behind the shot of the reporter in Baltimore but they did not broadcast the comments live like they did a few minutes ago. Rove must have made a call to MSNBC headquarters to get thtose truth tellers off the air.

18. MSNBC on live now: Goldie is back on TV now! Live interview.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 07:18 AM by CottonBear
He was at a wedding with his family. The weeding was interrupted (and not completed) by nearby bombing in the Lebanese port of Junee (sp?)...

He is concerned for his family still in Lebanon...he "cried like a baby at he embassy in Beirut...the taxi driver told him that when the Americans all left the bombings would get worse...
David said to not forget what is happening to the Lebanese.

21. Mohammed from Maryland being interviewed now...just got off plane...
He is upset that he was not allowed into the US embassy in Beirut since he is a US citizen and he (and others) should have been allowed to sleep there if necessary. Ir sounds as if the embassy was unprepared to deal with the US citizens who needed help (no surprise in BushCo world).

He is happy to be home in the US but upset about the situation in Lebanon.
