Today show leads with "Can Hezbollah strike here?"
I just happened to catch some of it as I was heading out the door. Will post the video when available.

Well that was the title under all the pictures ( people marching in the streets in black robes, people climbing on ropes, etc.) this report appeared to be from this
FBI increases scrutiny of Hezbollah
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/fbi_hezbollah

Roger Cressey-Richard Clarke's #2 guy and Steve Emerson NBC's terrorism expert thought it was a real possibility.

They even had a map showing the 11 US cities where the FBI knows there are Hezbollah activities (NYC, DC, Phil., Charlotte, Houston, LA, SF, 4 more (?) )

Funny though they reported that the awareness and scrutiny has been heightened since the - whatever we are calling it- started in the Middle East, the most recent activity, as Hezbollah may try to strike at the US if it thinks that Israel really is trying to get rid of it for good thus directly drawing the US into the - whatever we are calling it.

Will post video when available.

Can I manage to shove my foot up the ass of the person who came up with this new scare-tactic?

12. Did ya'll miss the fact that oil per barrell has fallen in the recent
week due to demand being less... looks like people have figured out.. crisis in ME.. means a weekend at home with the fam instead of out on the town. I find it interesting now that the FBI is issueing "warnings" in America.. even though Hezbollah has never attacked the US on US grounds before and I do believe they are a little tied up at the moment fighting the Israelis.

13. Any mention how many women annually are killed by their domestic partners?
Nope. Didn't think so. That doesn't put the populace in fear.

How about mentioning the problem of abused children? Nope. Didn't think so. No percolation of fear from that, either.

God, I hate the bush administration and its minions.

18. Thank you for the reminder!
Women and children in this country are dying by the thousands every year at the hands of their own countrymen but you won't hear that making the headline news.

16. Racheting up the fear, whipping the sheeple up into a frenzy
Get people frothing so badly at the mouth that when Bushco gets the smallest excuse to invade Iran and/or Syria, the sheeple people will howl for it to happen in order that they can feel safe again, and go back to chewing their cud.

This is Bushco's biggest weapon, and a real shame that it works so damn well. A very telling indictment of how down right stupid this country's people have become.

20. How is this NOT hurting 'Murka's safety (ala the NYT)??
I'm sorry if there is Hezbollah in this country don't you think they might want to send someone out to check on it? Aside from that, they put up Al Roker's freaking weather map with the cities they KNOW have Hezbollah activity in them...uh is that telling THEM that you know they are there?

Sorry for that. I was clear headed for a moment OOOOH! a python ate an electric blanket!! COOL!!!

19. Fear = Senationalism = Ratings = Profits

Rachet up the fear, which brings in viewers, because it's sensational, which then drives up your ratings, which in turn drives up your profits through advertising. Yeah!

21. It's just about time to fight back with our dollars
Time to cut out every other tank of gas, share bicycles, use candles one night a week and play boardgames and TALK to our families, turn off the satellite dish one day and week, all together NOW, and scare the shit out of them..

Let's return the scare tactics.. if YOU keep killing people, WE WON'T BE BUYING ANYTHING.

It really can be just that simple.

Hell, I haven't driven a car for weeks... been walking and riding a bike. I have not bought anything new, nor have I watched a single TV ad, etc.

I just buy food, read, study, play music, and vandalise photos. :D

The middle east has to think that Israel is going in for the big game at this point with us joyfully paving the way through UN vetoes. Syria and Iran are next and with our help. I'd be very surprised if there aren't 1000 martyrs strapping up right now.
