He's started his own political party.

"Lieberman also filed papers with the secretary of the state's office Monday to create a new party called Connecticut for Lieberman."

http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/connecticut/ny-bc-ct--senate-connecticu0710jul10,0,7530996.story?coll=ny-region-apconnecticut

The way I see it, there are only two possible reasons for Lieberman to start his own party:

1) To circumvent voting regulations and get his name higher on the ballot, or

2) because he doesn't feel the philosophy of the Democratic party matches his own.

I would LOVE to hear a reporter (or Lamont) ask him which reason applies...

1. Joe's internal polls show him carrying the clueless asshole vote by
a wide margin.

6. must be alot of those in CT
because he still leads a three way race 51-27-9 against Lamont and the Republican candidate. But if Lamont wins the primary he could come on stronly here too.

9. Yeah -- the poll right now favors him as an indy candidate but
Lamont's potential here is uncharted.

If Lieberman loses his own party's primary, the headline on August 9th is going to be All Ned.

That will signal a huge shift in public opinion, IMO, on Lieberman's electability.

3. Well then, all these prominent dems (you know who I mean)

5. When is the Connecticut for Lieberman primary?
At the rate he is going, I wouldn't be surprised if he lost it.
