How you can help us win.
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 01:02 PM by alfredo
The first thing you need to do it learn how to help. The DFA, Democracy for America has been holding what it calls "DFA Night School." It's an online training program on political activism. Even if you cannot get out and volunteer, it might do you some good to learn some of the material presented in these classes. Past classes are online and available for download. http://tools.democracyforamerica.com/nightschool/

Go ahead and download the spring semester material, and if you can, sign up and take part in the Summer semester.

the summer session deals with the media. I know some of you have heard me tell people to become the media, well here's a chance to learn how to do just that.

So once again, here is the link: http://tools.democracyforamerica.com/nightschool/

Stop fretting. Get to work my friends, we have a chance to protect our nation against the authoritarian right. We cannot fail our fellow citizens.

Thanks for the recommendation. Please keep this kicked.

love to have a partner to do this with. It makes it so much easier!

2. You have to go to places where progressives congregate.
I recruit at the farmer's market, outside the "art house" movie theater, and at any arts event.

A group of four or five people can have an impact. in 2004, four of us built a formidable organization with a database of 2,000 potential volunteers. We held our ground in the general election and even gained a seat in a state that went over 60% for bush. Our success was a swift kick in the ass to a complacent local party. Some of our group have gone on to positions within the state party and are changing the way we campaign.

The taller the mountain, the greater the reward.

3. Correct... But I Would LOVE More ACTION With Thousands &
thousands of people raising their voice against injustice.

Cruella is my representative if that gives you any indication of my locality. Even though she's has become very unpopular even around here... there are many Repukes in this area, and lots of money too. Neither of which I can relate to.

I have contacted some people to hook up with from here at DU who live around here, but no go. I'm better off heading North to St. Pete, but gas prices can limit me to some extent. The local FDA is pretty lame, but maybe I'll try them out again.

4. If they aren't pushing, then you have to take control and force
the action. You have to get the ball rolling.

Contact your local Democratic party office. Power goes to those who do the work.
