1. They don't have much choice.
If they want to be leaders of their country, they can't let another country invade their land without fighting back.

4. When did Lebanon invade Israel?
I missed that news.

Israel is fighting to hold on to land that doesn't belong to it--the West Bank in particular. That is quite different from being invaded by another country and defending your own territory.

But nice try at the spin.

5. I guess you haven't heard of the rockets that have been raining down
on Israel for years. Yeah, you missed that too.

Israel's not fighting for the West Bank - but I see the straw for which you desperately grasp.

7. It's hard to see them from the rubble left after 1978 and 1982
Of course--it's all a came of body counting, though isn't it...

8. Can you be more specific?
It would be in the interest of peace if Lebanon joined the battle against Hezbollah and sent troops to their southern border, and if they did that before things escalated further. Hezbollah is screwing everyone here, on both sides. They are putting Lebanese in mortal danger and killing Israelis.

9. Which will be a mistake on their part
As they're not up to the task of facing Israel individually and conventionally. The humility to surrender would serve them better than the courage to fight in this case.
