Poll question: If Lieberman runs as a repuke who do you think wins the general? |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 04:06 PM by KamaAina
In case you weren't around yesterday, there are now rumors that the CT repukes may dump Schlesinger and offer their ballot line to Joementum!
edit: Freudian typo of the year: I had his name as "Liebernam" in the header!

4. You're correct. He's going to run as the "Connecticut for Lieberman" party |
|
candidate.
How desperate do you have to be to not only ignore the results of your own party's primary, but then start your own party to run in the general?

There is no law against running without your party's nomination. He's being pushed out by ideological purists, so that's why he might run without the nomination.

9. He's desperate enough to form his own political party... |
|
...in case he loses the primary.
Of course it's not against the law. It does, however, say two things about the man:
1) He doesn't respect his own party's choice of candidates as determined by the primary.
2) He's willing to run as a candidate for a completely different political party that he created simply to exploit a loophole in the system that would put him closer to the top of the ballot by doing so.
...and let's not whine about him being "pushed out by idealogical purists". He's being pushed out by the Democratic voters of the state of Connecticut. If he was a member of the Democratic Party, he would respect the wishes of the Democratic voters in his state.
