God's Beloved...
God's Beloved

The fifteen children who died on the bus,
or the ones who sent the missile?

The wedding party in Iraq,
or the ones that sent the missile?

The prisoner with electrodes,
or the ones who put them there?

The citizens of Nagasaki,
or those that sent the bomb?

The people suffering in silence,
or the ones who own the medicine?

The people under the bridge,
or the people who outlaw giving?

The 50,000 dead Iraqi citizens,
or those that caused their deaths?

And those that kill the others,
say God's on their side,

and profess to be good people
as they kill those God denied.

And those that win the battles,
step through the body's gore
by the Holy scripture
choosing to ignore
the tenant of

thou shalt not kill and

the golden rule, and
stumble through the carnage

as just a spiritual fool.

Killing is bad. Every religion and philosophy will tell you that it's wrong. Those that try to promote killing are wrong and dysfunctional. Those who kill or justify killing in the name of a religion, political or belief system are psychopaths at best, Hitlers at worst. Stand up for what you know is right, hope for peace.

Pray for peace.

God's Song (That's Why I Love Mankind) Lyrics
Artist: Randy Newman
Album: Sail Away

Cain slew Abel Seth knew not why
For if the children of Israel were to multiply
Why must any of the children die?
So he asked the Lord
And the Lord said:

Man means nothing he means less to me
Than the lowliest cactus flower
Or the humblest Yucca tree
He chases round this desert
'Cause he thinks that's where I'll be
That's why I love mankind

I recoil in horror fro the foulness of thee
>From the squalor and the filth and the misery
How we laugh up here in heaven at the prayers you offer me
That's why I love mankind

continued below...

The Christians and the Jews were having a jamboree
The Buddhists and the Hindus joined on satellite TV
They picked their four greatest priests
And they began to speak
They said, "Lord, a plague is on the world
Lord, no man is free
The temples that we built to you
Have tumbled into the sea
Lord, if you won't take care of us
Won't you please, please let us be?"
And the Lord said
And the Lord said

I burn down your cities-how blind you must be
I take from you your children and you say how blessed are we
You all must be crazy to put your faith in me
That's why I love mankind
You really need me
That's why I love mankind

7. And on a more positive note...
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 10:36 PM by IanDB1
Artist: John Lennon
Song: Imagine

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

16. Good Morning Gandhi Quotes:
"The need of the moment is not one of religion, but mutual respect and tolerance of the devotees of different religions."

"I have noticed no definite progress in any religion. The world would not be the shambles it has become if the religions of the world were progressive."

"There will either be a new world or a new world war."

20. Thanks... And I just read this in LBN: 2 Iraqi women, child die in Raid

http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2006-07-21-iraq...

2 Iraqi women, child die in U.S. raid

BAGHDAD (AP) — U.S. troops raided a neighborhood northeast of Baghdad early Friday, killing five people — including two women and a child — after gunmen fired from the rooftops of buildings, the U.S. military said.

A U.S. statement said troops were looking for "terrorists" associated with the al-Qaeda in Iraq network during the raid in Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of the capital. Iraqi police said a single man fired warning shots because he believed the soldiers were militiamen.

The Americans said ground troops and a helicopter fired at the buildings after occupants ignored repeated warnings to leave. As troops secured the area, they were fired at from a rooftop.

"The terrorists attempted to reposition themselves between, and on top of, the adjacent buildings," the statement said. "Several men were seen moving around on the rooftops. The ground force twice gave verbal instructions for all occupants to exit the target buildings. These instructions were ignored."
