I don't know if it is still too painful to watch all of those people die or if it is because the whole event seems like a gop campaign commercial. When are the idiots who vote republican going to realize that the people running on the platform that they are the only ones who can protect us from terrorism are the same ones who were in charge when the greatest act of terrorism happened. If it wasn't for gop incompetence there would have been no 9-11 and nick cage would have a different movie coming out right now. Perhaps one that I would want to see.

6. No, it's a great movie, just checking to see you didn't throw the
baby out with the bathwater, so to speak. I saw the A&E Flight 93 movie on the tube, it was pretty painful to watch.

7. I saw the preview...
Edited on Thu Jul-20-06 10:40 PM by Coloradan4Truth
of The World Trade Center when I went to see An Inconvenient Truth, and I was totally taken aback by my response. I started crying, and so did many people around me. I don't know if I could see it... painful to watch all those people die, like you said, and what may be the bigger piece of my reaction; we all knew that shrub was going to be a disaster, but it seems like everything has just gone treacherously downhill from then on. Everyone's world has changed.

8. Same here
Unless there is a movie that covers government foreknowledge about 9/11.

9. I would if it told the truth about 9/11
If it's some hollywood action hero flick that follows the official story then I have no interest at all is seeing it or anything like it . What is the point in a movie of 9/11 , i saw it on the TV right when it happened , I don't need it enhanced or to relive it . It sounds like something to keep the fear up to me .

10. Here, here! (or is that hear, hear?)
I have been noticing the commercials for the World Trade Center movie, in addition to the recent Flight 93 movie and the upcoming 9/11 movie, and it just looks to be in such poor taste to me. And oddly enough, I am not one of the ones who was particularly traumatized by 9/11, I was lucky enough that I didn't know any of the victims, and I don't wholly buy the government's entire story about what really happened.

But the current run of 9/11-related movies just makes it seem like the various filmmakers are turning a relatively recent tragedy into fodder for schlocky, tacky typical Hollywood movies with lots of explosions and death. Yuck. If I did know anyone killed on that day, I imagine that I would feel like the movies were exploitative.
