Ava Lowery - Wow! What a kid!

I just saw a video on My Left Nutmeg of Ava Lowery, the creator of all those wonderful videos at PeaceTakesCourage.com, interviewed on CNN. I have always thought her videos were terrific productions but never had a clue that she is just a 15 year old girl. Wow! That floors me that someone so young and obviously so intelligent is so aware of her world and what is going on in it. Simply amazing!

5. Yes, I realize that

I've seen some strings here by her testing out her new animations. Didn't catch the Dollywood string before I saw it in this string. It would have at least given me a clue she is so young. I figured she was a seasoned vet of some kind of video production company doing this stuff on the side because her work seems so professional.

7. Wonderful CNN interview. Very bright, articulate young woman.

I was pretty disgusted at the CNN Newsbimbo who asked "How did you even hear about the war?" Jesus, what a stupid question. I grew up during the Viet Nam war, and was also deeply involved in politics by the time I was fifteen. In fact, I had a weekly cartoon published in the local newspaper up until I was eighteen, and frequently used my 5" block of space for anti-war messages. I have a picture of my bedroom at the time, with several pages of the Florida Today (forerunner of USA Today) hung on my walls declaring the end of the war. I just think it is condescending and ignorant to think that just because Ava is fifteen that she somehow wouldn't have a political opinion or a passion about her country. I think a better question is for Carol Lyn, the CNN reporter..."You claim to be interested in the news, judging from the job you've taken. How could you NOT have been involved in something like this when you were 15? Did you just decide 'I think I want to do news!' when you got to college?" Ava's passion comes from her heart and soul. Carol Lyn's apparently comes from the HR and Payroll departments at CNN.
