Seriously how would you react
if someone told you to get out of your home, your village, your town because they were planning to bomb your country to oblivion. Ah well the Lebanese government has told Israel they will defend their country against the expected Israeli all out attack (although I wonder why it took them so long).

1. They know it is symbolic.
The IDF will overrun them in short order. Classic exercise in futility...

3. Someone said
It is better to die on your feet, then to live on your knees.

And with some of the problems that the IDF is currently having with Hezbollah, nothing is carved in stone. Let's face it, who have the IDF been pushing around lately, poorly armed Palestinians, with
little training.

Hezbollah according to most reports are not poorly armed or poorly trained. They might put up a tougher fight then expected.

and even Churchill used this classic poem.

If we must die, let it not be like hogs
Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,
While round us bark the mad and hungry dogs,
Making their mock at our accursed lot.
If we must die, O let us nobly die,
So that our precious blood may not be shed
In vain; then even the monsters we defy
Shall be constrained to honor us though dead!
O kinsmen we must meet the common foe!
Though far outnumbered let us show us brave,
And for their thousand blows deal one deathblow!
What though before us lies the open grave?
Like men we'll face the murderous, cowardly pack,
Pressed to the wall, dying, but fighting back!

2. They've been using violence for years
It hasn't gotten them what they want.

Why not try to seriously give peace a chance? If only there would be a way to make sure that leaders brave enough to do it aren't assassinated...
