Why we need even MORE coverage of Lebanon/Israel war |
|
My wife, like the SO's of many avid DUers, is tangentially hooked into what's going on in politics through me. While she knows there is more warring going on, I'm not sure she really got the idea that this wasn't the same old shit, because we're really not seeing many actual photos of the war.
But today she picked up the paper and there was a huge half-page wire service photo of an entire bombed out neighborhood of apartment buildings. Leveled.
"Oh my God...they really are at war over there!"
I think BushCo has so numbed us to constant death and conflict over there, when you hear another news report about bombings in the ME some, like my wife, tend to think "same ol same ol." But that photo hit home. Made her realize what is going on, and that this isn't your garden variety ME "conflict."
Which is EXACTLY why these pics and news stories should be on the front pages of every newspaper in the world. Every day. So everyone knows this is fucking real.

1. that is bush's tactic to numb people so much they will just live |
|
with war and death, and invading sovereign countries, and thus we will become desensitized with death, and more ignorance.

2. I wonder if people would still be numb if...? |
|
155mm artillery rounds were landing in NYC or Washington or Chicago..
Or if F-16's were bombing power plants and water treatment facilities..
Or if tanks were rumbling down the streets of Omaha or Seattler or Dallas..
The American people are soo disconnected from reality its a joke.
Yeah, 911 happened. One day of chaos. Not a sustained blitzkrieg
