War is bad for your health - Literally
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 12:39 PM by DaveTheWave
My Iranian friend and I were discussing today the money that gets wasted on building missiles and other warcraft versus what could be put into or what's put into human welfare in both of our countries. We have a lot in common with his so called "evil" nation. Did you realize that? He told me that over in Iran right now there is an evil man, coming home from his evil job to his evil wife and hugging his evil kids that also just came home from their evil school. Then the evil family turns on their evil TV and listens to their evil leader tell them that he's there to protect them from the evil Americans and that the nation needs more money to build more bombs and develop nuclear weapons, etc. Sound familiar?
We also pondered on how many talented and smart individuals, especially here in this nation that join the military to pay for college (for some it's their only option) that might have become doctors who might have been the one to discover a cure for AIDS or inventors of renewable energy sources and so on die in wars everyday.
