Would federally-funded stem cell research be more palatable
to Republicans if all contracts were funneled through Halliburton, Bechtel and Blackwater?

Well, I was just thinking since Halliburton (historically in oilfield services) and Bechtel (engineering) have been given so many contracts for catering, hurricane relief, etc, why not just let them in on the billions of potential stem cell contracts? I'm sure these companies have the necessary contacts among the religious right to quell any religious objections, and they can bring Ronnie back and everyone will be fat and happy.

7. They probably already are...
through backdoor channels. If anyone perfects this technology for a common genetic disease , big bucks will be flowing in their direction. Sure wouldn't want the government looking for a cut.
