Thank God for Israel and Lebanon, the chimp must be praying every night that this tragic conflict continues on through November. If it does, the clusterfuck that is Iraq will be relegated off page 1.
Damnit, something *always* happens that diverts attention from the fuckup that is the chimp.
IN Iraq, 100 civillians are getting killed a day, along with our troops. Bahgdad has degenerated into complete and total chaos. It is unlikely that Iraq will ever unite, as it stands now, Iraq is essentially three seperate countries, all fighting for dominance.
All the while, we spend billions a week over there, and are sinking deeper in the quicksand.
Ahh, but along comes Israel and Hezbollah. Fucking chimp sez Israel should excersize restraint. Sure, like he excersized restraint when it came time to invade Iraq.
Lucky bastard.

7. Nothing to promote PEACE, no... |
|
but viewed another way, our Chimperor has in fact achieved what he wanted:
(One could say that) Iraq has become the prime example to other nations in the Middle East that Chimpy said he wanted it to be.
Well, there ya go -- he got his way, right?
Oh, and btw, Helderheid, thanks a bunch for your help a couple of weeks ago when I was so down. You're a true inspiration! :)

He *has* done nothing to promote peace. He can't. Everyone knows what the chimp is, a war criminal. Besides, when it comes to their survival, Israel will do what it must do. They always have.
I believe Israel is waiting for the evacuations to conclude. Once everyone who wants to be out gets out, and if Hezbollah doesn't cut the shit, Beirut may be flattened. The technology of war has grown by leaps and bounds since Israel last occupied southern Lebanon. Now they can war by remote control, watching, from the safety of a command center, images of missles homing in to their targets. Israel has this technology, and considering they do, I believe they are excersizing some degree of restraint. It is well within the reach of Israel to flatten the Lebanese infrastructure without ever setting foot in Lebanon.
And if something doesn't happen, that's exactly what will happen.
All the while, chimpCo stands by smiling, counting the days til;l November.

4. I seriously suspect that luck has nothing to do with it. |

Weren't there reports that the U.S. "gave the go-ahead" for Israel to attack? It's all part of the plan to hasten the apocalypse. :sarcasm:

The timing of this was very suspect. Does anyone really think that Israel would bomb an INTERNATIONAL airport and lay waste to an entire country without first "checking in" with the US?

Just because something takes Iraq off the front pages doesn't mean it helps Bush. Katrina obviously took Iraq out of the headlines; so did the Libby indictment. If Dick Cheney went on (another) shooting rampage, you'd hear less about Iraq. Doesn't mean it would help Bush.
I think most people, other than that hardcore 29%, look at the Middle East mess and think that either Bush's policies in Iraq have made things worse or too bad we have such an ignorant twit in charge of things at this tumultuous point in world history. I don't see how it helps the Republicans either. Congressman Blankenface in District 12 just doesn't benefit from the "don't change horses" crapola in the way an incumbent president running for re-election does. For instance, the Republicans made mega-gains in the congressional elections smackdab in the middle of WWII. If anything, this feeds a general mood of pessimism and "country on the wrong track" that doesn't help incumbents.
In the overall scheme of things, Bush is a "lucky bastard" for being one of the few candidates ever to become president without the people's consent. But not for this.

13. MSM will probably tire of this by next month |

And some are talking in context of this conflict how dingbat mananged to enable Iran to now also end up being the influence in Iraq with the Shiite. Plus how it is now civil war.
If gas prices keep going up because of this debacle - I don't think the voters are going to be real happy in Nov with Chimpy and the Repukes.
I worry though that this will bring on some October surprise that Darth Cheney and Rove are engineering in the bunker.
