CNN: "Blogs are not always friendly with the facts."
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 07:54 PM by onehandle
Hey, CNN. Are you sure you want to go down that road?
Notice that the blogger didn't say he was IN Sigma Chi.

"Many writers saw a sexist aspect to Bush's back rub. "This isn't a Sigma Chi kegger, it's the G-8 Summit," wrote blogger Christy Hardin Smith on Firedoglake.com.
(Bush was actually in Delta Kappa Epsilon. Another Web 2.0 truism: Blogs are not always friendly with the facts.)"

20. True- hiding the Bush horror behind minor truths gets CNN credibility ? NO
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 09:24 PM by papau
WAY :-(

Story choice is to be last to, or to never, tell of a GOP horror,

and the story slant is to always point out "Democrat" for every ethical error of a minor Democratic Party office holder or their staff, while no GOP affiliation is mentioned for the equivalent GOP story -

and if a story of really down and dirty GOP manages to get by the CNN/MSNBC/Fox wall, the slant always becomes he said/she said with the GOP response, no matter how weak or silly or illogical, treated as the moral and ethical equivalent and full of as much "truth" as the actual facts that condemn the GOP.

The GOP sexual harassment of staff/forced phone sex as was done by O'Rielly, the gay orgies they have as they condemn gays as bad, the screwing of underage boys and girls and mules, the whoring and gambling as they spout how only they have moral values, is all forgotten by CNN -

but CNN/MSNBC/FOX sure do get the name of the fraternity right, demonstrating how they are "fact friendly".

2. Did the blogger intend to reference Bush's fraternity or
just mentioned a fraternity by way of example?

5. Good writers go for the alliteration...
Sigma Chi kegger sounds better than Delta Kappa Epsilon kegger. (But Delta Kappa Epsilon Orgy sort of works...)

And CNN is worried about facts? That's the best laugh I've had all day.

Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 08:05 PM by Spazito
Christy's reference to "a Sigma Chi kegger". Unbelievable, the Middle East is dangerously close to an all out conflagration, Iraq is in a civil war, Afghanistan is mirroring the Russian occupation, bush humiliated his country by his behavior at the G8 Summit and THIS is what they decided to pick out.

WOW!

The bloggers are at the gate.

21. RW media makes assertion/assumption of Democratic evil and never backs
Edited on Fri Jul-21-06 09:37 PM by papau
it up, or rarely backs it up, with examples or facts - while the vast majority of blogs are always giving sources and links to data.

The bullshit alarm comment re blogs is typical of mainstream media folks (not that you are such - it just is a comment they would make) as they equate the 10% of the 10,000 blogs that rather than fact checking/sourcing/linking, forgo a great deal of that fact checking - trying to equate that 10% to the 90% of mainstream media that fact checks a biased slanted story that suppresses the facts unfavorable to the GOP, twists toward evil the facts - the fact checked facts - that are going against or can be twisted so as to be read as going against the Democratic Party, as the outline of every story is the Rove talking points of the day.

Got to love our not RW GOP controlled main stream media - they just act that way.
