AP: Minutemen to Build Border Barrier
Minutemen to Build Border Barrier

The Associated Press
Friday, July 21, 2006; 5:29 PM

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A group opposed to illegal immigration plans to build a 14-foot tall,
military-style barrier that would stretch nearly a mile along the Mexican border.

The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps' barrier near Naco was approved because the rancher's
land is more than five acres and the fence will be used to contain cattle, said Judy
Anderson, the Cochise County planning director.

Rancher Richard Hodges said the primary purpose of the barrier, which will have two
parallel fences and razor wire, is to keep cattle from walking onto a Border Patrol access
road that runs along his property.

But Hodges said the fence also could keep illegal immigrants from crossing his property.
Two trails cross his ranch, which covers 300 acres, he said.

9. Christo and Jeanne-Claude needed one for their fence
Perhaps these bright blubs down on the border should employ the couple to get the project really going.

Running Fence, 5.5 meters (eighteen feet) high, 40 kilometers (twenty-four and half miles) long, extending East-West near Freeway 101, north of San Francisco, on the private properties of fifty-nine ranchers, following rolling hills and dropping down to the Pacific Ocean at Bodega Bay, was completed on September 10, 1976.

The art project consisted of: forty-two months of collaborative efforts, the ranchers' participation, eighteen public hearings, three sessions at the Superior Courts of California, the drafting of a four-hundred and fifty page Environmental Impact Report and the temporary use of hills, the sky and the Ocean.

All expenses for the temporary work of art were paid by Christo and Jeanne-Claude through the sale of studies, preparatory drawings and collages, scale models and original lithographs.

MINUTEMEN NOT WATCHING OVER FUNDS
By Jerry Seper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
-----------------------------------------------------------
A growing number of Minuteman Civil Defense Corps leaders and volunteers
are questioning the whereabouts of hundreds of thousands, perhaps
millions, of dollars in donations collected in the past 15 months,
challenging the organization's leadership over financial accountability.

Many of the group's most active members say they have no idea how
much money has been collected as part of its effort to stop illegal
entry ? primarily along the U.S.-Mexico border, what it has been spent
on or why it has been funneled through a Virginia-based charity headed
by conservative Alan Keyes.

Several of the group's top lieutenants have either quit or are
threatening to do so, saying requests to Minuteman President Chris
Simcox for a financial accounting have been ignored.

Other Minuteman members said money promised for food, fuel, radios,
computers, tents, night-vision scopes, binoculars, porta-potties and
other necessary equipment and supplies never reached volunteers who have
manned observation posts to spot and report illegal border crossers.

11. Here's the link - the asswipes
1- They PRETENDED to be on BOTH borders by sending FOUR a-holes to VT, and the good people of a VT town KICKED THEIR ASS out of town, upon which, the FOUR asswipes got lost in the woods and CROSSED THE BORDER, thereby becoming ILLEGAL ALIENS.

2- When they were building their TEN MILE wall in AZ a couple of months ago, Univision showed a stack of bags of concrete with the logo, "MEZCLA CONCRETO MEXICANO"!!!!!!111

3- The rancher/owner of the property requested they put in STEPS OVER THE FENCE because the "aliens" were tearing down the fence, so the STEPS were so they could CROSS OVER without tearing down the Zeus-DAMNED FENCE!!!!!!!1

4- Now this, they are going to shoot themselves in the foot AGAIN!!!!!1

Here's the link (where the Hades is the COLON???)

Minutemen not watching over funds

.... Several of the group's top lieutenants have either quit or are threatening to do so, saying requests to Minuteman President Chris Simcox for a financial accounting have been ignored. ....

A former kindergarten teacher, Mr. Simcox said in the statement that he will request "a modest salary to maintain my role as president of MCDC," and if the Minuteman board and national directors do not agree, "it will be necessary for me to leave the organization and return to teaching -- or I may need to go get a job at Wal-Mart or Home Depot."

12. In the long run, it is better to have these morons in the desert
erecting a hilariously meaningless structure than in communities spewing hate.
