Penguin Group Authors on tour

After reading the Introduction to his new book, I've come to the conclusion that this book is a very important one. I'm unemployed and am totally out of cash. But damnit, this book is a must read. My better half and I are going to ride out to Hollywood and see this man and buy his book.

1. Just about done reading it,
And it is one book everyone needs to read, especially republicans. Maybe they will then understand that following these loonies will only lead to more disasters.

2. I'm about 3/4 of the way through it now
I highly recommend it -- be forewarned, however.

So far, I'm having a hard time stomaching it because it just confirms to me how vulnerable we are to these Double-high Authoritarians, as Dean refers to them, who have hijacked our Republic. They're playing for keeps, so we're in it for the long haul.

Conservatives and Conscience should appear only with without.

I saw him on Colbert the other night, and he claims he is a Goldwater conservative. Barry got the Native American vote here because he appeared to be genuinely interested in them and even expressed his love for them. But Barry, he still lived up on the hill. Don't think I would buy his stink'n book just because he has the repuke smell.

13. I think you are exactly someone who should read this
book. You will feel differently about Goldwater.

15. You can do that,
but you should definitely read the book because he has insights into the Conservative mindset that we libs definitely don't have -- plus he and his wife have been victimized as much as anybody by the vermin that have taken over the Republican party. If there were more Republicans like John Dean, we wouldn't be in this mess.

Conservatives without Conscience
John Dean

Former White House counsel John Dean, who was a major player in the Watergate scandal that brought down his former boss, then-President Richard Nixon, talks about his book "Conservatives Without Conscience." John Dean argues that conservative politics in the U.S. have moved perilously close to authoritarianism. Mr. Dean further distances himself from his Republican roots with criticisms of the current GOP leadership, claiming it has sullied the principles of conservatism with radical right-wing policies and Machiavellian tactics. This event was held at Olsson's Books and Records in Washington DC.

John Dean was White House Counsel to President Richard Nixon from July 1970 until April 1973. As White House Counsel, he became involved in events leading up to the Watergate first break-in and the subsequent Watergate scandal. Later, he went on to become the star witness of the Watergate prosecution. He has also served as chief minority counsel for the House Judiciary Committee and an associate deputy attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice. He has authored "Blind Ambition," "Lost Honor," "The Rehnquist Choice: The Untold Story of the Nixon Appointment that Redefined the Supreme Court," "Unmasking Deep Throat," and "Worse than Watergate: The Secret Presidency of George W. Bush." Dean earned his bachelor's degree from The College of Wooster in 1961 and his law degree from Georgetown University in 1965.

Coulter has idiotic books and gets tons of exposure.
