Congressman Conyers: Blow Out Quarter For DCCC
I think everyone was gratified by the great quarter the DCCC had. We raised more money and had some $5 million more cash on hand than our Republican counterparts. That is unprecedented to my recollection.

It takes more than money to win elections. The "three m's" are money, motivation, and message.

The money is clearly going well, but we cannot rest on our laurels. We need to do more, much more, to keep pace and insure that we have the resources we need to get our message out.

As for motivation, I don't believe that we can simply rely on the much deserved anger with President Bush supplying all of the motivation needed to take back the House.

Which brings us to message. This is the issue the DC pundits love to throw at the Dems. But while they have been echoing the GOP talking points on this issue, to their credit, the Dem Leadership has been crafting a coherent message -- on both national and economic security.

Democrats are as united as I have seen in a generation, and the mid-term election is ours for the taking. But we need to be focused, tireless, and resolute in our goals
